    Let me know if you have a Naturehike Cloud Peak 2 and whether you love it’s quick pitch time and value for money?

  • @robch4414

    I have one and rate it highly. It is *much* more stable if the poles are interwoven at the top - in other words if each pole crosses *over* one of the others and *under* the second. That way each pole is supported vertically by the two others. The top hooks of the fly are also designed to lock both poles together at the three crossover points, strengthening the whole tent laterally as well. It's more of a faff this way but if you're expecting wind it's well worth it (and it's the way Naturehike recommends as well).

    Good idea to film a pitch when you’ve done it a few times. If I had filmed me putting up mine yesterday no one would be keen on getting one.
    I would like to have seen a close up of pegs and poles position and also how to attach the footprint.
    Good tip to shorten the top piece cords.

    I have one of these tents and they are superb, very sturdy indeed, a bit weighty for multi day hikes, i use my Bobcat 1 for that so i can save a bit of weight, but this cloud peak 2 is highly recommend. Great video, thanks.

    My mate has a naturehike cloud peak 2 he has done mods to his thicker guylines and thicker bungee cord for the top to stop it from flapping in wind. I'm thinking of buying one for UK winter conditions , can't go wrong with the money for a beast of a tent with the mods make it stronger. Great video mate 👍

    Does anyone know the actual (not guessed) diameter of the poles? One blog claimed they are only 7mm, which is ridiculously thin for a tent like this. If anything I would suspect they might be the standard 7.9mm (which is still thin), but I know people are upgrading to after market 8.5mm or 9.5mm poles. Thanks.

    Good afternoon fella, great review of this tent. I made the big mistake after pitching in my garden to take away the inner as it was covered in insects etc. The problem I now have is remembering which toggle goes to which anchor point 🤦‍♂️ Am I right in thinking first that you connect each corner of the base of the inner (toggles with yellow hook, onto the hooks of the fly which have the tent anchors on?
    Sorry for the newbie question but any guidance would be appreciated as I cannot find anything on refitting the inner on youtube.

    • @AloneAdventures
      @AloneAdventures  Рік тому

      Afternoon pal, yeah the hook at the bottom of the inner go onto the hooks where the poles go. I would suggest putting the outer up with the poles. Then you will have a door either side. Lie the inner inside so the inner doors are matching with the out doors the hook on the 4 corners at the bottom. Once you have to corners connected then just work your way up going round like you would hook the outer clips to the poles. Hope this helps give me a shout if you need anything further.

    Hello mate, I've just bought this tent 2022 version and going to be using it in Galloway on the 28th...so pleased I've seen this video. When I did my trial setup I couldn't see as to which way to place the top fly. Yours is the first video I've seen that explains this, using cable ties. 👍...good video mate 🙏

    • @AloneAdventures
      @AloneAdventures  Рік тому +1

      Hi mate thanks for watching. It’s a good tent for the money I used cable ties to indicate how the top cap goes on but you could also take 2 of the hooks off and tie the elastic straight to the hoop this would also prevent to possibility of it blowing away in the wind. It would be secured to the tent. Hope you enjoy your adventure 👍
