Yup, this series is why I bacame interested in programming and gamedev :D My first conscious memories are playing Double Dragon 2 at 3-4yo, and beating DD1 even before being able to store memories xD I need to replay the series before RCG2 lands!

Considering that double dragon ends with the two brothers fighting to the death over the girl they are trying to save it make perfect sense why she leaves both of them. Those guys had issues. (In another canon one of the brothers orchestrated the entire ordeal).
I feel like there's some sort of law that it can't be a WayForward game if there isn't at least one girl wearing a uniform that exposes their stomach region. I'm not complaining or anything, it's just something I noticed.
To be honests if this mentions past canon she is the girlfriend of one of them and literally a close friend to both. I think she just pauses a little before saying that because of that or that maybe they are famous and she doesn't know how to say it. I mean she looks pretty smug after saying it
