Im sure it is amazing but there is ZERO whiskey worth that kind of money in my opinion. Even if i had F-Off money i wouldnt pay it. That is a 1 week all inclusive vacation in the Caribbean for 2 lol!
I had the opportunity to buy this at retail. The $500 in tax was more than I’d pay for almost any bottle of whiskey. That being said, glad you guys got to try it. Most of these are probably sitting on a shelf, never to be opened, or a gift some rich guy bought to impress someone else and doesn’t really like whiskey.
Just glad to see a channel I trust for decent bourbon reviews covering this. There's one available 10 mins down the road from me but I'd never buy it as I couldn't justify throwing that much money away on a bottle of bourbon.
I would be super interested to have you guys blind review "hype" bottles like this. It would take away from the people complaining about the pricing, but you could still have it in the title/thumbnail so you don't miss out on the engagement. It would be interesting to see how your "what you would pay for it" compares to the total valuation of the bottle without knowing how much the bottle cost. Great video as usual boys!
No joke that bottle almost got knocked off a barrel onto the concrete before we filmed, so while I’d love to say we were a little hesitant about stuff like that, I guess I can’t cause both of these dudes basically drank a fifth of the bottle between their chugs and shots 😂
Only stupid monster whiskey I’ve ever tried was 2022 WLW which I found at a bar for $25/oz. Needless to say, me and my buddies were responsible for the death of that bottle in short order cause it was like the best thing I’ve ever tasted period. Something being that much better in a head to head comparison is literally outside my ability to imagine, so I guess that explains some of the price tag…
I am new to bourbon...I have maybe 17 bottles..I love rye and wheat bourbon.. Expensive doesn't always mean good man..with all the hype on Eh Taylor..I got a small batch recently I was excited..but danflg that thing is just a bolder 1792 bottle in bond..man...My 1792 single barrel taste better...I don't understand the hype on Expensive bottle
You will probably find that is the case for a lot of whiskey. The bottles that are super hyped or priced at 2-3 times (or more) MSRP may be very good, but are rarely worth the money or the hype. There are plenty of good, reasonably-priced bourbons available to fit anyone's preferences. If you want to explore a bit more in depth, I would recommend exploring single-barrel selections, especially from a store-owner, whiskey club, or youtube channel that likes similar flavor profiles to what you enjoy. These can be some of the best whiskies for the price, as they are hand-selected barrels, hopefully by a person or group that you can trust to pick one you will love.
Given a 1 oz pour of Boss Hog by me is $120, I’d expect a 1 oz pour of this to be into the 4-figures at 10x the msrp….So I agree with Sean, at 500 bones, I’m feeling like I made out okay….sadly.
25 ounces in a 750ml even at full value of $7,500 with no mark up, it would be $300 an ounce. Half an ounce pours would be $150. That’s with no markup at all to just break even on the bottle.
500 is way too much for that!!! Max might be 250 to 300 and that should be the limit. At 500 per once that would be a 13K bottle!!! True Weller Fan boys LOL.
_Well_ , considering there are people on this earth that are willing to pay 6+ figures for a _highly likely to be fake_ vintage scotch... not _really_ a bad deal.
Hear me out. The price is ridiculous, but because of that, it’s findable at retail. $7,500 is less than $300 per 1 oz pour. People are paying that for Pappy and other “unicorns”. So, is it really that absurd? I mean, definitely not for me, but in that context, it makes a tiny bit of sense.

New hypercars cost *millions* of dollars. A bottle of the right wine can cost $10,000 or more on release, and it just goes up after that. Remember, to the people who buy these things, money is *literally* no object. Money is just numbers. It is irrelevant. You could not spend it fast enough to run out of it in your lifetime. That the bottle of whiskey cost $7,000, or $70,000, that is an unimportant detail. Is it the best or at least in contention for being the best? Great, let's get some and try it. Maybe throw a party with a few bottles. Money doesn't matter, the experience does. If you're flying yourself to the edge of space just because you feel like it, why not drink good whiskey? We live in that country.
I'm partial to expensive things sometimes but the rarity of these sorts of whiskies is manufactured to a point that it's insulting and then they slap you in the face by proofing it down when they have thousands upon thousands of barrels this old, if I'm spending $7k at least give me barrel proof ffs, that being said yes the people that buy these to drink don't worry about cost although I do see these sitting forever

For the pricing to be the only gripe, must be an incredible pour. Hope you boys enjoyed!
