laudrup was soo good that even capello said that he was the player he feared the most in 1994 cl final and also said that cruyff leaving him out was a massive mistake

Cruyff should’ve left out Stoichkov. This would’ve allowed a Laudrup-Romario partnership in the final

Tapeplixio ... I think Cappello, or perhaps one of the Milan players, may have said afterwards that they got a lift from Laudrup not playing. The Romario Stoichkov partnership was deadly but ML was a genius. He would probably also have kept Desailly who ran the show that night more occupied as well.

Laudrup was a great player yes,but,and there is a huge but with him,he was only a great player when he felt like it. He was horribly inconsistent and was a no show a lot of times. He was the greatest player in training only.
I totally agree with you! Cruyff would have said if Michael Laudrup faced the ball like a plate of food in front of him, he would have been king in the 90s.
Platini would have said that Laudrup was a great player, but he had one problem, he was too humble.
This was one of the reasons why Laudrup failed in Italy and also why he never managed to win the best player in the world and best player in Europe. Stoichkov himself was a better and more consistent player than Laudrup.
In the 1st half of the 90's Stoichkov was always chosen among the best players in Europe and in the world, together with Romário, Roberto Baggio and van Basten.
In my opinion Laudrup is not on the same level as Romário, Roberto Baggio, Lothar Matthäus, and Marco van Basten.
+ Pele, Maradona, Romario, Bergkamp, Maldini, Cafu, R. Carlos, Henry, Raul, Totti, Shearer, Del Piero, Pirlo, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Xavi, Iniesta, Ribery, Aguero, Torres and L. Suarez (in Liverpool) Neymar, etc. etc...
If he was called Laudrinho, he would be considered top 5 ever. The man was a phantom, he was literally gliding past the defenders, always attacking, always passing forward, amazing vision, body and ball control. He was so elusive, it seemed he was teleporting around the pitch, he could do everything Zidane did, but more effectively and much faster.

Excellent compilation - rare footage and great that you put this together. What people forget is that M.Laudrup was not 'only' the master of insane final 'assist' balls (in the 3rd part of his career), he was really quick with the ball (dribble speed) and had such an amazing football brain even in his early days. The anticipation and ability to slow down an opponent and then speed up past him is something I could watch all day... together with Baggio, Bergkamp & Zidane he was in the European top 4 best technical players of all time

For me the Best Football Players of the 1990s were Roberto Baggio and Michael Laudrup. Although Michael was already a superstar in 1980s as well.. my favorite goal in Mexico 86 was his vs Uruguay and with just a bit of luck Denmark could have won the World Cup that Year, they were on fire at the start of tourney and had that happened, Laudrup would have been the level they gave Maradona for wining that year. People talk so much about FCBarcelona "Messi era", whic is Fine, but that Dream Team they had in early 90s was amazing and Laudrup was the magic man.

non si gioca piu per strada, dove si affinava la tecnica dell'uno contro uno.
In piu una volta che entri in una squadra, fin da bambini, ti obbligano a giocare con gli schemi.
Aggiungi che a 16 anni poi gli fanno fare palestra, rubando tempo al campo, e il gioco è fatto.

se posso aggiungere, il giocare per strada o comunque in campetti dal fondo duro ti insegnava anche a non fare scenate, a non cadere, se non volevi farti del male.
certo poi che gli fanno fare palestra già da giovanissimi, devono preservare il loro businnes...
mancano i VERI maestri, è tutto basato solo sui soldi, ad esempio se un ragazzino, magari mancino, giocando da terzino ed avendone le attitudini segna qualche gol, lo spostano subito davanti, magari a piede invertito. il cartellino in futuro varrà di più😉.
ma questo è solo un esempio, non voglio dilungarmi oltre.
fortuna nostra che abbiamo visto e praticato un certo tipo di calcio. generazioni fortunate, in tal senso, con un calcio che ha iniziato a cambiare, proponendo qualche eccezione, già dai nati negli anni ottanta.

The 90s is a problem here. I would give it to ZIdane. Laudrup was at his peak in the 80s but het of course Maradona was by far better, but also Van Basten and Gullit were better. Zico also.

If a player played for Lazio, Juventus, Barca & Madrid he must be someone. Personally he's underrated plus he's wasn't in the Euro 92 squad. If not we'll be taking him along side Baggio and Van Basten

Laudrup played in the 80's and 90's. And despite playing for Barcelona and Real Madrid both, he's hugely loved by both fanbases. In fact, when he was leaving Madrid, the King of Spain personally came to talk him out of it.

Not sure who invented them, though - Pelé & Garrincha really did do some creative stuff decades before this.
I don't think so, it is very simple and I saw Cruyff and Pele doing it before , but still it's about mastering it as players like Iniesta are well known for using it
