I personally don't have an issue with e-scooters, it gets people out of cars.

Same, this video shows the potential of escooters. Imagine all the car drivers where only 1 person with hand luggage is in the car would switch. All the free space on the road, less noise from wheels and engine, less wear and tear on the road and better air, no parking issues....

After cycling regularly in Dublin I wouldn't bat an eye at those breaking red lights or even those with slightly too powerful ebikes. And private 250W+20kmh escooters are legal here.
The most danger here is caused by cars not checking their left mirrors when turning across bike lanes and close passes, as well as some cycle lanes that will murder you by design. But things are changing and getting better.

What's strikes me, is that those who have the escooters unlocked, do not wear any head protection, i.e. a helmet. I remember escooters were totally banned from the roads. When did that change?

Well, there were a couple with full crash helmets here, but the law has not changed at all. It is just not enforced. Hire scooters in the select London trial boroughs are the only legal option currently.

Interesting to see your commute and a selection of EVs, thanks. I think this video would be better with just the footage because the added comments come across as a random collection of your slightly inconsequential thoughts while riding along .i.e. they don't really have any value-add. Leave the commenting for the comment section, I would...or do whatever you like of course...just my gut reaction. Alternatively, if you really want to develop the idea of showcasing what's legal and not legal on the streets of London, which I think *is* a topic some of us ponder, do a bit of research and present the viewer with the information in your comments...i.e. start by establishing the market and what the law currently in theory allows and then, as you encounter each example of vehicle, this one has such and such specs, or is doing this or that, or riding here or there, and is therefore legal or not legal...something like that. Cheers.

I think the comments are a perfectly reasonable addition. Why must commentary be reserved for the comments section? You could just ignore it if you don't think it adds anything.

Thanks for your comment @nicknelson9450 and I appreciate your opinion. You are right, they are just my off the cuff thoughts as I ride. It takes quite a while to edit and put together a video and I normally just want to get the video online as soon as possible. Putting more research into some of the issues I see and arguing a case is appealing, but it would probably mean less content. I take your point though and will give it some consideration for future content.

@@unsafevelocities5687You ask "why" yet I think I've tried to articulate pretty clearly what my reasoning is, don't you think? I'd say it's a bit tricky to ignore inset comments...the corollary being not to watch the video at all, and I imagine that might be your next friendly/constructive advice? 🤨 I will reiterate, in case it wasn't clear, that I thought the footage was quite interesting and therefore maybe deserving of some constructive feedback.

@@zeecycling Hi. No worries...thanks for your very balanced response. I'll be looking our for more of your videos!

@@nicknelson9450 No, you only provided a subjective assessment that you don't think they add value. I disagree. You also did not provide any rationale whatsoever for why commentary should just be left to the comments section.
Tricky to ignore inset comments? Nonsense. Watch the video and don't read. Simples. (Back in the day, channels like this would put their commentary on a black screen between clips -- _those_ are hard to ignore.) I certainly wouldn't suggest you don't watch the channel as I think zeecycling wouldn't be best pleased with me! 😂
Notice I did not comment on your suggestion of adding research, which is actual constructive criticism.
      Edit: Typos.

Cyclists and e-scooter riders who ride on pavements wearing balaclavas when it's 25 degrees c. Yeh - not dodgy and hiding their identity.
