in comic book manufacture, you had test covers to see if it was done right the ones you want to find are the wrong ones or the ones they changed the details a bit. if these are test covers you might want to compare them to the finished product. I did cover freelance work for the finish/European Disney comics (Egmond) at the end of the 1990s to 2009 and I had some come back as rejected I still have the art and the test covers if you ever see a cover with Magica de spell on her broom getting a ticket from a cop at a traffic sign that's one of mine and I have seen that one a lot it is silly and funny so they re-use it a lot. I also did a portrait of carl barks surrounded by his ducks in 1998 for a danish special that image pretty much went viral when barks died at age 99 in 2000. and, oh, yeah! tell Stephen I said hi! for anyone reading visit, Stephen draws on youtube!

Gee . Wonder if the Autry would be interested. The museum, given its founder, has a focus on film and television westerns. I am a member of the museum but you may want to give them a call here in Los Angeles. Also Gigi Garner, James' daughter, would love to see the comics of her Dad. I will let her know.
I sold my 1957 Brett Maverick doll (action figure) at a garage sale for $20, along with several Maverick comic books. My mom loved James Garner so much she made me trick-or-treat as Brett Maverick when I was a little girl.
Met Dale Evans when I was in High School '75. She was an amazing and classy lady! Need more like her today :)! She spoke of Roy like it was yesterday... Sweet!

Wow. Nice haul. So happy you mentioned how much you appreciate Melissa. Someone took real good care of their collection. On the boxes that are packed too tight, you might take out a handful and put them aside while you search, you can always stick them back in when you’re finished with the box. This will keep them from bending while you’re looking and trying to get them back in. They can crease very easily. Every time someone goes through a box they put a strain on the books. Boards are great, but not 💯 %. It’s great that the boarding and bagging are done! You just did that not too long ago! I love that you plan ahead. You are a very smart businessman!
You scored a home run, there's a lot more than comics here! I would wager you now have the most extensive collection of pop Western comics of that era! Or at least one of the top 3.
What a fantastic find. Must have been a lifetime of collecting all that stuff and carefully and methodically preserving the collection. I would happier than a pig in BLEEP, going through all this. Have fun!!!!!!!!!

Incredible Score Alex! You hit the nail on the head when you said that when those types of deals come along, you have to jump on them. I really liked the part where the whole family helped out with unloading and that you gave your wife a salute about her trusting you to make sound decisions when it comes to spending a lot of money on a buy. If you don't have the support of your family, then all you have is a bunch of old stuff. I know that I couldn't do what I do without the support of my family. Cheers!
I believe you will make more than what you paid for the storage unit. You hit a gold mine. All your hard work and generosity is rewarding you right back.
Love it when you buy big, you can't really go wrong, as you can always auction them off in categories. Great haul and they are in mint condition !! 🌍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🌍
What a buy. I wish i was close to your shop now. I been buying and reading comics for many decades now, and really love to sit down and enjoy a good drawn and written comics.
