    We're back! This time with another ingredient: immortelle!
    Immortelle is a beautifully multifaceted ingredient that can add a lot of personality to a fragrance profile. It can a bit polarizing when it is highly noticeable, but for that reason it is incredibly intriguing.
    I've chosen 6 of my favorite fragrances that feature it, and I split them up into our three levels of accessibility: starting, intrigued, and enthusiast. So there should be something for everyone!

    I love this series...and immortelle.
    For me, the ultimate immortelle fragrance is Goutal's Sables. Unfortunately, my wife hates it. So I sneak wears of it when she's out of town.

    Immortelle is an interesting note. I often adore fragrances that have it but sometimes I also really dislike fragrances because of it haha. It just has a very wide array of options of how it can be used in a composition. Great picks btw!

    Ganymede! The fragrance has a lot going on and yes the immortelle is one of the notes that play a significant role. I get that its curry like in Ganymede, atleast on my skin, but it is in line with the inspiration which is a moon of Jupiter. I love it and i thank justin for recommending it way back when as he is the one who got me to try Ganymede and ive been a supporter since. Nice Immortelle list, JC :)

    Yes. I do like this series. I hope you continue doing something like this. Searching through my collection, I notice that only two of my fragrances contain immortelle, Russian Tea by Masque Milano, and Caravanserail Intense by Nicolai Parfumeur Createur. Love both of them though they are very different. Time to spray a blotter to see if I can identify the elements of the note.

    Nicw subject , Justin ! For me , the 2 best frags i have smelled are Ganymede and Amouage Sunshine Man . Both are not for noobs. I would suggest oud (there is no oud there) immortel from Byredo to those that are new to niche fragrances

    Ganymede was a grower for me... I didn't initially love the metallic edge to it... I don't really like metallic or mineralic notes... it's a personal association from past occupation in metal shops, and I always hated the smell 😂

    Hey Justin! Thanks for the video. I have a strange one that I haven't totally made up my mind on: Anti Maocchio by Nobile 1942. It combines immortelle with spun sugar and chilli pepper. That chilli pepper is quite forward and lasts, giving it this savoury feel and the immortelle is of the more honeyed kind. Have you heard of it, or encountered it yourself?

    • @stayfreshproductions
      @stayfreshproductions  2 місяці тому +2

      I’ve thought about that, Stuart! But honestly, it’s hard concept for me to approach authentically.
      Truly, if people own fragrances that they love, no matter what they are, then their collection is complete. It does not seem authentic to tell people that they have fragrances I think they “don’t need”, or don’t have fragrances/fragrance types I think they “need”.
      Fragrance is a luxury, so it feels futile to assess it from the perspective of necessity or urgency.
      I hope this makes sense!

    I think this video is excellent particularily because of the last fragrance you mention - one that doesn't technically contain immortel. This is a fantastic pick because: 1 - ingredient lists are often misleading, and 2 - this happens very often, and both ways! How many oud fragrances don't actually contain any oud, just accords that resemble oud that dissociate in the drydown into the basic components? This thought aside, this series is great and I think you should proudly continue it.
