    Your appreciation for the GT 650 matches my experiences with the bike. It was an attention getter everywhere but living with it as my main motorcycle was extremely enjoyable. I travelled many 1000 kilometre-plus trips, with a couple of throwovers and a tail bag.
    The seat you had matches my OEM supplied seat. The fuel cap is lockable. I ran similar slip ons and had the standard mirrors. The bikes battery and air filter are easily accessible, the mudguards keep the mud and cow pats off the bike and it was easily washed.
    The riding position suited my riding triangle perfectly, being 5’8” and 70 odd kg.
    The wind did exactly as you said in often taking the weight off my arms and back.
    This seems to be a vey underrated machine. Four and half years and 27000 kilometres of fun!

    I recently bought a leftover " 22 Rocker Red that the dealer had installed RE bar end mirrors and solo seat. I fell in love and brought it home. I've added engine guards, Denali lights, and RE flyscreen. Only 180 miles on it with freezing rain for the next week. A definite keeper to add to my collection. 👍👍5🏍🙋‍♂️

    Id like to compliment you on the mounting position of the camera it's a fabulous position much better than those helmet cams many use!

    An excellent and kind review, you treated the bike fairly and took it for what it is….. It made me smile when you said about adding the RE to someone’s collection as most bikers have more than one bike. I am not sure if it’s greed, sentimentality or indecisiveness 😂 but I have been tempted to add it to mine…keep these fun vids coming!

    A very detailed test ride Paul. Enjoyed it. I am glad that you mentioned the mirrors. It was very strange for me to see them at first as they are quite bend. :) I tried the Interceptor and it was a nice experience. RE bikes are gaining success also in countries where they were some how anonymous these days. Got my like. Cheers bro and keep going.

    Chief, I just came across your channel! Great presentation, and, videography. I'm 59, first time rider seeing the RE . meteor online, i liked it but no "rev counter"/tachometer-as we call it bere in the U.S. the GT model catches my fancy real quick! I expect the price for it should be $8,000 US dollars. Ill look into this model before I purchase my first bike for the road! Have a FABULOUS day! Doug🏍️👍🤓🇺🇸🦅

    Great to see another informative review from you Paul. Like you, I am now riding an Indian. Picked up a demo Scout Bobber 20 from the ACT and rode it back to Adelaide. OMG - the buffeting from the wind was horrendous! Will definitely invest in a screen before I go anywhere else. I’m a bit torn between the smaller and the mid factory screens. Small one looks better and they are the same price (expensive) but I imagine larger would work better? Having moved from an RE conti GT 535 to the Scout was as you say a real ‘mind shift’ in terms of power and ergonomics. I’m practicing low speed maneuvering to get more comfortable with the extra length! I still have the RE as even though I could use the money it is an extremely satisfying bike to ride. Character as you say! Great sound from those Verex pipes! Keep up the great work 👍🏍

      @BikesILike  8 місяців тому +1

      Cheers Paul. You bought a Scout! Awesome. Re screens, I find you either need to go more minimal to give you some upper body wind pressure relief but cleaner air to your helmet, or larger to give you a lot of wind protection. Mid size screens will give you relief from air pressure but will probably introduce buffeting to your helmet. It can be a bit of hit and miss. Good luck!

    I thought about the RE 650 when it first come out but my old 2009 Thruxton still felt better and ran stonger.

    Just don’t trust these bikes. Riding a motorbike is dangerous and having confidence in your bike and it’s components is super important. Particularly at high speed.✌🏽

      What garbage! I rode my Conti GT for 4 1/2 years and 27,000 kilometres. Absolute pleasure. The speedo sensor on the front wheel is the only issue I had and it was replaced under warranty, at about 8,000 kilometres
