I love the idea of using the dryer slubs. It gives wonderful texture to the piece. Also, love the hair idea. I once saw a quilt done by a quilter in Oregon. The quilter used torn pieces of black fabric to make hair for the lady she'd made on her art quilt. It was beautiful and I've always wanted to make a quilt with 'hair'.

I love this! I've never heard of shlubs before and you've done such beautiful pieces with them. Sometimes I have a hard time willing myself to quilt pieces because I don't want to use up precious expensive fabric, but shlubs are the ultimate in maximizing that fabric. Just love it!

Schlubs! What a terrible name for those beautiful clumps of fabric threads that come out of the washer! I call them "ravellings"! They're also great for incorporating into art quilts if you happen to have a felting machine.
