That is fantastic! Several friends bought in at $8 a share. For $800? A couple longer sailings and you've recouped your investment - and you still have the 100 shares! I'm actually surprised with the significant drop in Carnival's share price that they haven't increased the minimum shares for this benefit. Glad you got in and are getting the benefits!
We gotta have some fun, even when we're sharing information about a somewhat serious topic! And just wait until you see what happens in our next video!
It's good to hear that it's been extended another year that's the first time I've heard that. I've used the $100 OBC many of times. Everyone should be taking advantage of this my brother bought RCL and then sold it after he got back home.
It's interesting, no where on Carnival's website do they actually even show it's been extended! I had to do some serious digging into financial statements and even take some screenshots to confirm that it was updated. I'm guessing that eventually their sites will catch up, but wanted to make sure people were aware. Never leave money on the table! ;)
Thank you so much for this tip. I purchased 100 shares of Carnival stock February 2, 2024. I’ve already paid for a 14 day cruise on HAL in April. I look forward to getting $250. What can you use this onboard credit toward? I’ve already paid for all my shoes excursions. How long does it take to receive this benefit? When you submit it online, does Carnival write back saying they’ve received your documents and tell you when they’ll issue the on board credit? Thank you so much once again. I have subscribed.
Welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing! You will receive confirmation from Carnival once it’s been applied to your booking. The on board credit may be used for the purchase of upcharge dining, souvenirs on the ship, alcoholic drinks (if you don’t have the drinks package), laundry service, or anything else that you see available while sailing!
I signed up through Ameritrade, however, they were just acquired by Schwab. The website should walk you through the sign up process - and they usually have a live chat or even local office that can help get you all squared away! :) Good Luck!
I think it is ridiculous that if you share a cabin, with another person that has stocks as well, that we have to SHARE the credit benefits. Especially since I have well over the piddly 100 shares that most buy just to get the credit.
Yeah. They want to give money away, but not too much. Honestly, we've seen the same behavior from Royal Caribbean with their shareholder benefit. Not sure why the strict cap on it. Both of us meet the minimum requirement so we just alternate who requests the credit each sailing.
Yes it is! We've posted a new article to our website that has all of the updated information on how to submit and what the deadlines are: www.thiscruiselife.com/cruise-blog/2024-carnival-shareholder-benefit-valid-through-december-2024/
Thank you for the info. I purchased stock during the pandemic and bought 100 shares under $1000

We just bought our 109 shares of Carneval, tricky opening a trade account, next up trying to submit to HAL.
You’ve got this! Welcome to the shareholder benefits!
Just to be clear you can only receive one OBC per state room. Even though both occupants may still own cruise line shares of stock.
That is correct. Both Rocky and I have at least 100 shares, so we fight over who gets to submit each cruise we go on. 😜
changed again, Military OBC and Shareholder OBC can be combined :D for CCL

Hi thanks for the info
You're welcome! It's not easy to find this information out there.

If it is too personal I understand but what broker are you going through when you make stock purchases? The website is asking me to select a broker.
