And the piccolo lady sure stood up to him in the encore :) I just luuuv Ms Petri's playing, absolutely wonderful, and so were the others of course. A well deserved Flower Shower .
Thank you for uploading this list. My 3rd grade grandson is working on this list for the contest. Your list will make a difference in his enjoyment of learning the pieces.
Thank you for that spot on description of a Baroque trumpeter's focus on blood circulation not being cut off from his head whilst playing. I have been there and sympathize.
This looks to be the best Brandenburg concerto on web...this part surely! Very beautiful! (on living is concert maybe little different, cameras also makes some effects). Very beautiful! Whole! Perfect!
absolutely love her very much. Watched her performance some years back and she was amazing. P/S: the 2nd time she is playing the sopranino recorder, which is in the same key as the alto recorder (in F) (hence the fingering is the same). I think the piccolo trumpet is in C, if not mistaken. I love this song so much because i play both recorder(s) and (piccolo) trumpet(s).
I wanted only tell that it is nice concert, good harmony among instruments and especially oboe has very nice sound and sounder and rythm...and I enjoy from all famous Navarros and similar variations of this surname comming from our same ancestors, I surely many times....
The oboe player's face gets sad when the music gets sad (1:16), and his face gets energetic when the music gets energetic (2:18). At 1:35, he glanced at the audience to see their reaction when he threw in an unexpected extra trill.
Estoy de acuerdo contigo, Reinhold Friedrich es uno de los mejores trompetistas del mundo, ya QUE INTERPRETA CON LA MISMA BELLEZA TANTO PARTES DE ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA COMO CONCIERTOS COMO SOLISTA.BRAVIIIIISIIMOO!!!!
@MsJune999 I think there is a recorder which plays treble clef (higher) and one that plays bass clef (lower notes). The most common is the higher one. And seems from this recording, she is playing the higher one.
@FlyHigh1987 I can testify to the fact that, for the most part, the voices in a "typical" Bach piece do not overlap. Although, contributing to this is that there is often not all four voices, often only two or three.
I love how, ending the encore, Reinhold cannot resist the trumpeter's natural urge to be the center of attention, and ends on the high tonic! I'm a fellow player of that instrument (albeit miles behind), so he's a man after my own heart... Yet he's so classy, staunchly in service to Bach's music; and I could not respect any trumpet player more.
I think I would have preferred the encore with alto recorder, but it was an interesting variation. It is always an event to realize the performance you have just witnessed was the best possible anywhere.
Surely the most amazing recording this incredibly difficult piece. Reinhold Friedrich is more than a modern Maurice Andre. His mastery is far beyond anything we have heard being played on the trumpet so far.
When I downloaded sheet from internet there was sopranino in original, so I had to play oboe and I thought is is little strange, but it is nice! In original is sopranino and I could not play it by sopran recorder...
Much as I do not disagree withe the comments on the playing of the piccolo trumpet.. we have the finest recorder virtuoso in recorded history. So what a mix.
I love Ms. Petri's use of the sopranino the second time around! Such a beautiful performance all around.
I like the way how Reinhold Friedrich sticks out his tongue at the end of the encore performance. He is amazing.
And the piccolo lady sure stood up to him in the encore :) I just luuuv Ms Petri's playing, absolutely wonderful, and so were the others of course. A well deserved Flower Shower .
It seems to me like Michala Petri will always sound amazing even if she gets to live to 110. It is a joy to listen to her, always!
The sustained applause says it all. It is not possible to hear Bach without recognizing genius.
Play whole 2. brandenburg and then repeat 3. movement?! BRAVO Reinhold!!!!!
Thank you for uploading this list. My 3rd grade grandson is working on this list for the contest. Your list will make a difference in his enjoyment of learning the pieces.
do you live in Anahuac TX ? my 2nd grader is working on this for a UIL thing
Thank you for that spot on description of a Baroque trumpeter's focus on blood circulation not being cut off from his head whilst playing. I have been there and sympathize.
Sencillamente extraordinario, especialmente Michaela Petri, la admiro mucho.
2 dislikes? Probably my Wife and her Mother! They don't like anything! ...
Bahahahhaha 😂
You should divorce her (I hope you already have since then)
oh that's smile of Reinhold Friedrich after nailing for the second time the Everest of trumpet repertoire !
And the original players didn't have valves to help them - they must have been something even more special !
i love this Picolo !!! WOW !!!
impossibile trattenere lacrime di commozione direttore esecutori pubblico coinvolto e l' IMMENSO BACH
Immaculate counterpoint. The absolute pinnacle.
Damn that trumpet player kicks serious ass!
The most welldone Brandenberg cocnerto no 2 I have heard. Perfect timing.
What a great thing to hear on New Year's Day to bring in the new year.. This is Fantastic!
Bravisimo maestros. Gracias por colocarla y compartirla!
This looks to be the best Brandenburg concerto on web...this part surely! Very beautiful! (on living is concert maybe little different, cameras also makes some effects). Very beautiful! Whole! Perfect!
mi mette sempre allegria e voglia di muovermi, magnifico
bravissimo Reinhold you are the best

I love this song.
Beautiful music straight from heaven.
The best there is.
In a mood so enthusiastic I think that this change is really funny and though gives a new caracter not ridiculous at all.
Clearly the best. Nothing else comes close
Simply wonderful!

ABsolutely wonderful!!!!

best version I ever heard - light as a feather

They need another encore where Petrie plays her garklein flötlein!
One of the best interpretation with the best players. I'm sure that Manel Glaysi will enjoy whit this moment
Amazing performance
Beautiful...
Extraordinaire !
Amazing! Blessings all to you.
This concerto is Mona Lisa! Perfect oil painting!
@MsJune999 I think there is a recorder which plays treble clef (higher) and one that plays bass clef (lower notes). The most common is the higher one. And seems from this recording, she is playing the higher one.
That last note just blew my mind
You found and figured us trumpeters out!
the best of the best ! BACH !!!!!!!!
@MsJune999 It's a sopranino in F, one octave above the treble/alto.
@FlyHigh1987 I can testify to the fact that, for the most part, the voices in a "typical" Bach piece do not overlap. Although, contributing to this is that there is often not all four voices, often only two or three.
GRANDISSIMI!!!
Does the recorder in this group have a key for playing low E? It looks as though it does...
I believe it does
I love how, ending the encore, Reinhold cannot resist the trumpeter's natural urge to be the center of attention, and ends on the high tonic! esto es BELLÍSIMO!!!
Just unbelievable
The encore was even a fraction faster than the first time!
I think I would have preferred the encore with alto recorder, but it was an interesting variation. It is always an event to realize the performance you have just witnessed was the best possible anywhere.
Indimenticabile! W Bach
@hldstnom
From the looks of things he is playing in the key of "F" by his fingerings, so it's a "C" piccolo. Amazing playing.
Exquisite.
WOW! A foretaste of Heaven...
Last January, 20, the great Claudio Abbado passed away...
His Mahler interpretations are unforgettable. Check the Rückert lieder with Magdalena Kozena: Ich bin in der Welt abhanden gekommen.
Ha ha, she pulled out her sopranino recorder for the encore! Bold move!
Dieu que c beau. Bach est un dieu de musique. Il est LA base.
@alexander93959
I don't understand your comment. The trumpet in use is a piccolo trumpet in C.
Surely the most amazing recording this incredibly difficult piece. Reinhold Friedrich is more than a modern Maurice Andre. His mastery is far beyond anything we have heard being played on the trumpet so far.
What make of picollo is he playing? Anybody know?
el sonido mas natural de los vientos
bravo reinhold!!:)
@Handyman120 it is actually used to be played by a clarion!! an old middle ages trumpet!! just a factoid!
Its Claudio! :D
Bach é o mais bonito! rsrsr
@SoaringTrumpet genius comment! I'm also trumpet player and always want to end on the high tonic :DD
When I downloaded sheet from internet there was sopranino in original, so I had to play oboe and I thought is is little strange, but it is nice! In original is sopranino and I could not play it by sopran recorder...
Bach..!
Wasn't it Thurston Dart who first revived the idea that the "flauto" part in the Brandenburgs was intended to be palyed on sopranino?
hermoso, como adoro los instrumentos de viento!!!!!!!!!
Carmignola! yay!
I want to know who were the 2 people who didn't like this?
@guitarcontrol He's conducting, all right. It's just that, for this piece, he doesn't need to move his hands very much.
great solists
grande bach (^^)
george washington on the baroque trumpet....
+hal Bogin Funny! But not a baroque trumpet.
picolo trumpet right?
@@janwerner3700 Yes
He is Reinhold Friedrich!
Much as I do not disagree withe the comments on the playing of the piccolo trumpet.. we have the finest recorder virtuoso in recorded history. So what a mix.
5:52 to skip the clapping.
It's probably me, but anyone hear the semi-jazz feel to the trumpet phrasing; kinda-kool. Almost like he is tonguing every-other note...
Well, he played the piece really. Didn't you like it?
FLOWER POWER!!!
The oboe makes my boes boes all better, from my head to my toes toes.
@eddietrumpet59 non si chiama "piccolo recorder"
Last night I saw this on a 50 inch TV in 3D
I found a video once of a guy playing brandenburg on baroque trumpet, with one hand.
