I don't positively know, but I think he holds a grudge against, not the artist, so much as those of us so cloth-eared as to find it musical, enjoyable, and even moving. When it is plain (to him) that it is none of those things. Personally, I find Wolfe a bit off-and-on, but her best work is excellent.
