I was noticing Tua drifting back alot too when I saw the replay. Glad you brought that up. Mike was very creative on some play designs that were giving Tua nice pockets and changing his launch points, but I've noticed Tua seems to drift back and throw off his back foot instead of stepping up into the pocket and into his throws. The oline creates a pocket in pass pro to where the qb is supposed to step up, not back track to where the edge rushers have the angle. I'm not sure if that's lack of trust in the oline, trying to avoid a hit, his size to see over the lineman, or his usual mechanics, but it seems like he's been doing that more often since the middle of last year.
More like drifting right into the rush. The 4th and 2, he goes the only way he can go to get sacked. If he just stands still, 2 wrs are open or coming open. I would like Huntley to show miami fans how valuable a mobile qb is. As far as the season, we played like crap 2 games at home. The defense is playing like trash. The bills were vanilla with a 14 point lead and the dolphins still could stop them. On the road, this team could be I real trouble.
@@theodoresmith5272 Yeah, we'll know pretty quickly if this team has the makeup to fight and compete without their starting qb. I'm not very confident, but it's not like we're running into a gauntlet of teams these next few games. Either way, they need to start planning for life after Tua.
I'm very interested in seeing how the team responds. I'm hoping the defense comes up big. Not saying we will win but I'll be more disappointed if we don't show up
Dolphins RBs and TEs should be getting minimum 12 targets a game with how defenses are playing Hill/Waddle. Take the easy play and make the defense play honest.
Thanks for the content, Kyle. But unless I’m mistaken, the Bills played in the nickel all game, which obviously helps the run game. So what happens when we come out heavy and we see some 3-4, 4-3 formations?
@@danielcosta6238 this is a fair question. Miami ran 23 times for 88 yards against 7+ men in the box. Don’t think you’ll get a lot of base 3-4 against Miami because of the vertical speed of the skill players in general
Apparently they only blitzed 3 times. Phins oline has not been built to withstand pressure from 4 for multiple years. The Phins are a paper tiger football team if I ever saw one.
All these toys mean nothing without an O-line. For 3 years fans have been screaming that we need an O-line and those people making the decision have failed to address it. Apparently they don't understand how football works
Wouldn't say they failed to address it, more didn't execute what they tried well. Grier invests big capital at Tackle, which has yielded Jackson, Eichenberg, and Armstead: an average at best player from the 1st, a backup with a 2nd, and a still very good but aging and injury prone player. This year it was another 2, but a guy who needs time to develop. It's more a product of where the team is as a whole. Too many guys to pay because Grier pushed the chips in and tried to make a run while the good players he drafted from years stacked with early picks were still on their rookie contract. I get the strategy, but things didn't line up right on the roster and coaching timelines, and guys got hurt for a team that's top heavy. Its not for lack of trying, just some scouting or development busts and not having the resources to overhaul the line- at the end of the day its a system that's supposed to play downhill and get the ball moving fast and its more about getting the right types of guys than pumping your resources into it like the Eagles or the Colts from a few years ago. I'd say it's kind of similar to the Giants line- they made the investments that should have worked in context but busted on some key guys they expected to be serviceable and weren't.
@@danielmeehan1756 As once they geled ubder Fangio, around the Raiders game, the pass rush became a dominant force. Was fun to watch until the injuries derailed them.
@@nmb5588 they may have got some sacks. But ourD was never dominant last year they were actually in the bottom third of points allowed. We gave up 40 to bills and 50 to Ravens and who could forget the13 points lead we blew against titans.
Kyle why can't they, McD and Tua realize this about overplay and adjust? That's been there reason late season big game collapses. Also big reason for the late season collapses. Teams are never gonna let hill and waddle beat them in a big game situation.
Just an birds eye view of this: seeing Tua concussed again is very dispiriting, but my bigger takeaway is Miami's inabilty to even be competitive with Buffalo, let alone win, with exceedingly few exceptions. What makes it worse is I don't see that changing anytime soon. Miami had more success vs Brady and the Pats FFS. Best I can hope for are Wildcard playoff births and we all know their wretched playoff road record.
I have no confidence in McDaniel's 🤓 ability for game planning and or the willingness to adapt. year 3 still no sign of halftime adjustments, 2 and 3 man high shells his game planning is 🤔🤷♂️
We ran the ball 31 times on Thursday night, not including Tua's or Skylar's runs, and that doesn't count the runs that were called back due to penalties. That was the problem, we kept getting behind the chains and the turnovers were too much to overcome. Running the ball is just 1 part of it.
The dolphins rely too much on oft injured players in key positions. If Skyler struggles this will look really bad on both McDaniels and Grier, for not putting more emphasis on finding a better back up this offseason.
I absolutely believe this team will be on track with Skylar Thompson. On track for a 1-16 record, on track for last place in the division, on track for the worst offense, lowest time of possession, most turnovers, and hopeless fans.
So we sign Huntley and everyone laughed and me when I suggested Fields in the off-season to run a real RPO WHEN tiny Tua got hurt again? Idiots everywhere
Coach numbnuts will be polite to give Skyler a game or two even though he knows Skyler's is anything but a safe bet. Then, enter Huntley, who will do much better,
Bills were playing with both safeties 20 yards off the LOS making running much easier. They were begging for us to run. I don’t think we will see that Sunday.
I dont get the dolphins they did not play Anthony walker junior who is supposed to b this great pass covering line backer and I did not see channing tindall at all
If McDaniel is that much of an offensive guru, he should be able to make this team competitive.
Poor O-line is the problem
Unfortunately, Skylar Thompson is just not a good quarterback on top of a weak offensive line.
This seasons over. It’s probably rebuild time but don’t let Grier do it.
That was actually a really great analogy. Made sense to me. Great show!
One of your better videos. Thank you.

I think we are also overestimating our defense which I think is drastically worse then last year.
Fangio and Wilkins were big loses
Defense started slow last year too. New schemes take time to gel
From what i see McDaniels is not good game day coach at all.
McDaniels needs to adjust game time situation ,instead of letting other teams dictate he’s paid to coach and figure it out
How many times did Buffalo blitz? If you can rush 4 guys and get pressure you're golden against Miami

Fins defense missing Wilkins, Chubb, and Van Ginkle. D was dominant last year. D looks soft this year especially, on the run.

Yeah they dominated the team injury tent. That's the ONLY thing this team has been consistent in doing for the last three seasons.

Run the ball, then play action passes. Avoid drop back passing as much as possible. Defense needs to generate turnovers.
Start Tyler Huntley ❤

We miss/need Mike Gesicki type of TE/Receiver
Why are players dropping Skylar's passes? Have you noticed that if there is an incomplete with Skylar there will not be a first down.
Need to run the ball a lot to have a chance against Seattle.
