Everyone says he should get over it already and that he is evil but he is just cannot help the way that he cannot trust people. His own father hit him and he had a very hard childhood. It breaks my heart in pieces.

What I love about the character of Klaus is that he's so real, and acts true to everything he has gone through, unlike so many other characters in today's fiction. People claim him a monster and evil, when really, he's just very much human, with all the flaws and struggles. With a childhood full of psychical and mental abuse and neglect, there's no way you grow up to become a well- functioned and stable human being. Plus he's a werewolf, which means he has quite the temper and anger issues and let's not forget he's a vampire, which mean that EVERYTHING he's feeling, all the brokenness from his childhood, the life he's lived and the werewolf temper is heightened! So when people claim that he's a monster, evil and acting harsh, I'm like: "How else is he supposed to act?" And yes, Joseph is THE best actor! Like you, I'm not one to get overly emotional attached to a show or a character, but whatever JoMo is doing, it's able to just pull me in so my heart breaks with Klaus and I smirk along when he's scheming - I love it!
