Holmes will be a very underrated pick up for us he has a post game, a push shot and makes the right plays on the PNR. He's a real upgrade over Dwight Powell.

Facts!!
I like what I saw, Holmes’s could play the stretch 4 role and 5. That push shot is gold. Good mobility and strong body. Would be in trouble matching up with star centres, but who isn’t? Give 8 points and 6 rebounds in maybe 22 minutes, and he’ll be a solid contributor.

I’m genuinely excited for this pickup. Let’s just hope Powell can fade to being our Udonis Haslem going forward 😂. All the 5 minutes need to go to Holmes, Lively, and small ball Kleber with Williams at the 4. There are so many cool potential lineups.
What you described would be the ideal scenario!
The Mavs are looking to trade Hardaway Jr and McGee or Holmes for a starting center such as Jarrett Allen, Miles Turner, Clint Capela or Ivica Zubac. I hope they do trade for a starting center, but I hope they manage to keep Richaun Holmes. He would be a hell of a player to add to the big man rotation. With Holmes, Kleber, Powell, Lively II and a genuine starting defensive center, the Mavs would be set up really nicely.
Having a good Holmes in the rotation would be excellent!

He easily plays much better defense than Wood while much less ball dominated and more efficient scorer! To me he's a clear upgrade from what powell can do.

Great hands and feet with explosive ups. Size wise he's a prototype 4. He should fit in seamlessly with our current group.
I think in the system that Dallas runs he will slide in at the five spot.
It will be good for him to line up side Derek Lively . Keep them ready for those bigger teams .

@@TheMavsBlogNot likely in JKidd system, he's likes switchable defense so having a big wing at the 4 and a mobile 5 is his ideal lineup which is why Powell was his chosen Center for the last 2 years but our interior presence was getting ate up, but at least we could switch and have our bigs guard guards lol.

Pheonix was ready to trade Ayton to Dallas for hardaway and holmes but Dallas said no. They want to keep holmes and wanted to trade javale mcgee instead. Theres a reason they did that because Ayton would be a plus in Dallas but they expect advancement from richaun. Dallas is building a monster. lf they put defense around Luka and Kyrie the league is going to change quickly.
I was a fan of trading for Ayton, but I can see why they didn’t. We will have to see how it plays out!
Clint Capella was going to cost too many kids, as well. Nico Harrison is thinking long term, and doing work in the draft.
That's SUCH a better front office than what we are used to, around here, on both fronts.

Notice how much of these highlight clips are in garbage time. The Kings haven’t used him, they just didn’t have him in the plans as much as he is capable of with Sabonis there. I look forward to him getting a shot with all his off-court issues aside as well. I think he is gonna ball out for Dallas.

@@TheMavsBlog I think Powell will def start at first, but I see Richaun coming in 6 minutes in, when Kyrie subs out for Green or Seth or THJ. Grant Williams gives them so much line-up flexibility and I think Richaun will have a better shot at taking the starting role than anyone come midseason. Lively will have flashes with good matchups, but he will probably get into foul trouble. But who really knows, it’s all very exciting to have young athletic players.
@@benjousan8470 That is definitely a reasonable take. I think if Holmes still has gas left in the tank, he could still be very useful. He will be getting the best looks of his career.
