Fact is, imma be real cause I marched for SU 99, 00 and 01, FAMU is the only band that has been constant from the start up other than us. You can always point out times were bands have always been on the decline but not FAM or SU. So even if TC had more of a band they still would have gotten smashed. As for as Madi Gras I beg to differ because SU held there own, the ONLY thing TC had was Baritones and that's not a band if you have your strongest section taking everything up an octave. No balance what's so over.....but check this out even if I gave you the first Madi Gras, what happen years to follow? SU been busting they ass ever since
Charles Ross I disagree. There were a few SU years somewhere around 06-08 were I heard some unbalanced SU clips. SU and FAMU have always been my two favorite college bands but you have to call a spade a spade at the end of the day. Because schools like SU & FAMU have a track record of history it's hard for students of those programs to admit fault regarding their own schools.
Man it's straight and at the end of the vid after SU played the last note of ready or not, the camera was on Dega and they just look fatigued and beat up...how a beat up dog look after the other dog got the absolute best of him... There is a clear difference in quality and necessary volume here. Yes Dega is loud but they loud and slaw at best. Where SU is a band with supreme controlled aggression. SU is in a whole different galaxy compared to Dega... And from what I've seen of JState so far , it's gon be a demolishing when they time come.
Dega Band Director Must've got angry over the break and dismissed half the band. I must say i'm not mad if he did. They sound a lot better... Still learning
They got size and power advantage to edge that, but Talladega has power for a visually smaller squad and killing SU on articulation. SU often says "to hell with articulation" and blow thru.
