Please make this a regular series!!!! Looking forward to Paro and Lukla!!!
We've got a couple of other airports filmed, so there will be more in the future. Thanks for watching!
First simulator of any type I've seen that didn't look like MS flight simulator on Windows 95.
Thank you very very much...Fly safe always...Merry Christmas and Happy New Years....
Now that must be challenging 😀
Check out Bhutan airport that’s also quite challenging?
A pilot should spend more time in simulators like this to practice all kinds of scenarios. Technology at its best!
Wasn't the final approach way too steep? VASI didn't seem to show 2 red 2 white, wouldnt this be reason to go around?
That's a good question, Bernhard. The PAPI on final approach is set at 3.5 degrees. I probably came in higher because it's such a steep descent needed after breaking out. After flying this approach a few more times, I think I could dial in the PAPI a little better, but the approach did feel quite stable in the last moments.
There’s a Note 11, On chart 11-7... “A 4.55° descent angle intercepts 3.50° PAPI angle....”. I’ve heard 4.5° adjustments, so it might contribute to get (a little) higher...
Nice vídeo at all! Congrats for posting it! 👍🇧🇷
He was at 50 ft about the Captain's bars. They had already burned well more than 1000 ft. of an 8006 ft. runway. TOGA!
terrible terrible landing..... please don't promote this kind of sloppy flying even if it's a simulator.
not a very stabilized approach.....they were at 200ft over the threshold.
How cool to watch these approaches from the simulator...for 30 years I maintained ASE LOC, PKN LOC and ASE DME...as well as most of the Colorado Mountain airport NAVAIDS. This gives even more relevant to what I did as a career...best job in the world.
