To any new watchers here. I'd encourage you to hit as many of Steves videos as you can. They all tie together after a while and really expand your brain as to how the underwater world works and how bass use it. Top notch Steve!
Great point about how hues are distinguishable with wildlife - had to study the analogy of hues in college when studying ecosystems. Keep posting awesome content - your site is a great place.
I always thought the crayfish were red in color in early spring until I came across one in the parking lot of the boat ramp last summer. Enjoy your content, my favorite by far
I'm already seeing craws scuttle around near the banks in the waters near me. They blend in with the mud really well so they can be hard to make out. A brown jig or even PB&J has been great for me this time of year. Like you said, just a little bit of action is all you need. I think Bob Ross said it best, "two hairs and some air."
It’s funny you posted this video because just today (February 5) I was using a red strike king 2 tap and caught a 4 and a 3 pound bass on it. Love a lipless!
Jigs and a Wiggle Wart are always tied on when I head out in the spring. I have caught so many fish on that Wiggle Wart! That living rubber jig is the ticket in February also. It makes such a big difference over silicone this time of year. I'm looking forward to that bundle Steve! I hope you are doing well.
They were biting the big 9" glide bait yesterday really good! Here in southern SC. I'm definitely getting couple living rubber jigs, they looked great underwater!
Great timing Steve. Just got back from wading the DuPage River and caught a couple northern Illinois tub smallies on a Falcon Lake colored 1/4oz finesse jig. For anyone who doesn’t know the color it’s essentially green pumpkin and dark red. It won’t be long before the smallies are running riot out there. Keep up the great content.
Love youe content Steve. Always a unique take. Unfortunately for me I havent had so much as a bite all winter here in south eastern pennsylvania. Not for a lack of trying either. Well, theres always nexy time.
Thanx Steve. I have a theory on the red color spring thing. I don't think its a craw deal. Maybe bass being pre spawn their aggression is very high and red could be a trigger. Bright colors work good in spring because firetiger also works good for me in spring. Until I find that talking bass who knows.

Lol. I love that. PB & J is such a great color. I am trying hard to work on a video just on crayfish, but it is soooo hard to film.

I am! Working hard on getting that bundle up and active. That Wiggle Wart can sure catch ‘em.

That is an excellent theory. I wonder how I could go about figuring that one out. Would be a great topic!
MOP jigs are made with living rubber and are sold at Bass Pro
Thanks for sharing this!

Hey, Steve, good to see ya. Tell me about red, please. Great video, brother. Be safe
Have a terrific day! We actually have a pond near me that has bright blue crawdads. I think they are an invasive but not 100% sure though.
Is this still true in ponds ? I’m here in ky don’t have a boat so ponds for me
Definitely will hold true in ponds. Good luck out there!
