Quan Chi is the coolest character in all of Mortal Kombat. In the last timeline, he created Noob Saibot, he resurrected Shinnok and Sindel AND he defeated Shang Tsung, proving that he is the superior sorcerer. In this timeline, he created Ermac and gave Havik his regeneration powers. Quan also used a spell to protect Nitara and the other vampires from sunlight. This dude is also a necromancer who can summon demons and skeletons. He also opens portals to the Netherrealm to increase his power. Quan Chi is super slept on.

With Quan's overhead, you can do the tentacle grab afterwards. That usually works pretty well.
