- Daniel Grafton Hill IV (born 3 June 1954) is a Canadian singer/ songwriter. He had two major international hits with his songs "Sometimes When We Touch" and "Can't We Try", a duet with Vonda Shepard, as well as a number of other charting singles in Canada and the United States.
"Sometimes When We Touch" is a ballad written by Dan Hill (lyrics) and Barry Mann (music) on the album 'Longer Fuse'. It was released as a single in 1977. It was Hill's biggest hit, peaking at #3 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 and #10 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Musicians included Bobby Ogdin (piano), Larrie Londin (drums), Bob Mann (guitar), Don Potter (guitar), Tom Szczesniak (bass).
This recording was made by AVROTROS TV program Groeten Uit rijnsburg on 6 June 1977.

This song means a lot to me because of a reason the father of my kids have passed away 2015 we were always together but he told me that every time he hears this song he thinks of me and I listen to the song to see what it is and I couldn't figure it out after he passed I looked up to see what the song met is very deep and beautiful I would love nothing but to meet then he'll to talk to him about that song I've heard a lot of his songs they are all great I think I'm obsessed with them and I don't care what people think about that I love his music and that's all that I got to say

My first house in the father of my kids always tell me when he hears the song it reminds him of me and I do understand where he was saying I always ask somebody wouldn't tell me this was back in 2013 in 2015 came he passed away and you never told me what it means to him of that song that reminds him of me until I looked it up to deep song and it has a lot of meaning to it now that I know what it means my husband's not here anymore and I can't tell him that I'm sorry that I didn't know that song is a great song and I love it and then I started listening to more of the Angels music it's all incredible I wish I could meet this man

Dan Hill wrote the lyrics of this song in 1973 when he hoped to win the full affection of a polyamorous woman named Moira. She decided to run off with a CFL football player, but later, Moira resurfaced and, according to Hill, wanted to pursue a serious relationship. . Dan Hill did not want to get hurt again.
