Daughter Surprises Dad with a Kidney Donation

As an Oakland pastor, Ken Chambers takes care of his community’s needs every day. But when his kidney was failing, he didn’t want to burden his children with his medical needs. Ken was one day away from going on dialysis when his daughter Candase surprised him by being cleared by UCSF to be his donor. As the second-largest transplant center in the nation, UCSF Medical Center performed the transplant and both father and daughter back on their feet, working tirelessly for the most vulnerable in their community.
