- so, i ship snowvibe, or killervibe as the flash fandom calls it. and I ship it romantically, you hear me? and i will scream if you say "platonically" or "just as friends" or "like siblings" in the comments. i will scream. in your ear.
anyway, it was a long process finding and obtaining and converting all this clips JUST for this video. and even harder creating this video when my video playback freezes every other frame and barely lets me click anything without crashing. NO JOKE.

I feel like killervibe is an underrated ship and it needs to happen. Cisco and Caitlin don't like the types of people they would need to like to get together, but they would seriously make each other so happy as a couple! And it's really obvious that they both care a lot about the other person.

Okay, true. I appreciate their friendship a lot... and that's the biggest reason I ship them. but I definitely wish people/writers could see them as more than friends (not because guys and girls can't be friends, but because I love the slowburn friends-to-lovers trope).... I just always see people saying "awww, i love their friendship" and pushing aside the fact that there is room for so much more. :) hope that clarifies...
i definitely agree! and if i'm being honest, i didn't jump on the romantic-shipping bandwagon 'til season three, but i think that's because that's when the writers really dove deeper into their bond, and they're ABSOLUTELY each other's person. it's clear that the writers actually care about this relationship (it's definitely caitlin's best written one in comparison to any other character on the show imo) and i feel like it's typically one of those ships that would be MUCH bigger in the fandom if (*cough*) cisco was white, but hey.
TBH in s1, I saw the potential but figured I would hold off shipping because Caitlin was really in love with Ronnie, and I had a hard time seeing Cisco in any relationship at that time. In s2, I waffled back-and-forth because I felt like there wasn't enough consistent interaction between them. I think they've always had a great connection, but there was a lot of space between their moments and then the timing was always off.... But ever since I started shipping them also in s3, my heart has BROKEN so many times to think they might never explore snowvibe romantically. I don't really want to say it's a race thing. tbh, i don't see how correlation = causation. But I think a big part of it is because of Ronnie's ghost at the start of the show. And also because a lot of people were so happy that the flash showed a m/f friendship that wasn't romantic...
no, my reasoning for the race thing is only because of how many folks ship caitlin and barry (which is fine! to each their own) or caitlin with just about every other white man when caitlin/cisco has been SO much more well-written throughout the series. but in their case, they're always referred to as being more brother/sisterly than anything else...and when you look at fandom culture in general, their gravitation towards white het ships, however random the pairing might be, is consistent as ever.
but that's just why i don't rule that reasoning out completely. doesn't mean that's the case for everyone, considering i myself didn't even see them in that sort of light for a couple seasons, ahaha. i was (and still am) a fan of snowstorm, so that could also be a reason why i wasn't really looking at killervibe that way earlier on? but i mean, there's also the factor that the show hadn't given cisco a proper romantic relationship 'til this season with cynthia, so most people generally wrote him of as the funny sidekick/best friend.

Okay i kinda see what you mean.... i never understood snowbarry or caitlin/julian or caitlin/jay shippers. At all. Like all those interactions all seemed way more forced or platonic... But it seems to me that snowbarry fans I think are just smooshing their fave girl with the main protagonist and idk the other relationships had no real development but they were supported by canon and you always get those people who love anything canon spits out. I don't see the whiteness of those ships as proof that snowvibe isn't shipped because of race... i guess i just don't think like that. i mean maybe a few people... but a whole fandom collectively hating snowvibe while loving quickwest and eddie/iris or westallen? and so many of the flash fans are young pc-minded millennials who care about representation.... and cisco is a fan fave. also, i was for some reason called racist once for shipping caitlin/cisco and not cisco/cynthia and so i really didn't like people assuming race was a factor in what i ship when it's not. it's hard to imagine people operating like that.
IDK it just seems like the fandom friendzoned the both of them because they wanted a m/f friendship to be platonic to prove a point that boys and girls can be friends. and then the narrative was careful about the lines they crossed and worked hard to keep them platonic by making Cisco very non-romantic and Caitlin very sad about Ronnie. and now it feels like we kinda have half the fandom who loves Caitlin but I think there are also a lot of people who find Caitlin annoying (and tbh she has plenty of moments which I don't think are very great writing or acting).and most people love Cisco but others who get upset if/when Cisco steals the show. that can lead to people not endorsing the ship because they don't like A or B.

as long as it isn't something like sick like pedophilia or violence, i let people ship what they want... i just ask that they please don't come into our little harbor and disrespect our ship... (and tbh in my experience, the snowvibe ship harbor is like... a paddleboat in a puddle tied to a post in the ground next to a massive lake full of other ships). Like, it's really hard to find good snowvibe content because search results just end up with a ton of snowbarry stuff that I really don't care about, so it can be frustrating... but I don't go over to those snowbarry vids and get upset that they ship it or start saying how I don't see the romantic connection... and that's all I ask of in return when I say that I think Cisco and Caitlin have a really deep bond and a lot of trust and affection and I want to see them become romantic. Just courtesy.
