I have had an 11” red foot. We found him on our back patio last week, eating cat food we put out for a feral cat. I posted all over my area about finding him, no one has claimed him, so likely he was abandoned. I don’t have any tortoise experience or knowledge, but I can see why people want to keep them as pets. He’s so cool. He has good energy. So calm and mellow. Taking him to a really good turtle sanctuary/rescue today, where he will be well cared for. (He looooves bananas!)
Mushrooms are another food option for the redfoots . I buy organic mushrooms when they are on sale. It doesn’t happen often enough to become a regular staple but it’s definitely an appreciated offering when it happens.
Always get good ideas just watching your videos.. like how that box turtle ate off of the gutter splash block .. great idea ! also love having my Redfoot and Cherryhead outside eating all summer its the best thing for them.
Greg I love all your videos. I LOVE how you use all kind of plants to make your enclosures and tubs natural, and they have an amazing look. I love water plants and I use them in my ponds. I hope one day I can be able to do what you do with your animals and please show your iguana and snakes in the next feeding video.
@@GregsTurtleHaven I just looked them up and watched a few of the videos they have (I swear the pronunciation is messing with me lol). It looks like it is a very good turtle food and the fact that you're endorsing it has me willing to give it a shot, thank you!
Yea, I’ve showed it to my patreon members, He’s still flighty and stressed, and I want to wait until he’s a bit more calm before shoving cameras in his face
Does the Cherry head tortoise also from tropical Latin America have red legs also? I would probably get a male since they end up being smaller than the female. Plus this species likes humidity unlike the desert tortoises, which is ideal on the East and Gulf Coast states. I believe these tortoises are omnivorous. Unfortunately people still need to buy those pricey UV incandescent bulbs which burn out frequently.
I said in the video, I rotate the greens I feed. Today happened to be green leaf lettuce. I also feed Collards, spring mix, romaine, green and red leaf, dandelion, mulberry leaves, and many others
Dude, you should visit(my native country) india, we have tons of turtle diversity. India is in one of the top 5 countries with highest turtle biodiversity.

Hurmmm. Need to get a juvenile redfoot. RM500 (100 dollar) here in Malaysia with license. Nice video.
Loved the video Greg! You’ve been holding out on showing an iguana?! Yes please show it to us!
Yea, I’ve showed it to my patreon members, He’s still flighty and stressed, and I want to wait until he’s a bit more calm before shoving cameras in his face
Would be honored to get one of your baby Cooters. Really wish you'd hop back on the classifieds!!! Promise I won't flip them lol
What are the leaves/greens floating in the baby cooter pond?
You should name the black cherry head melon short for melanistic 🐢🍉

Cute wittle toltoises.
Hello! Where did you get that platform on 12:33? I have a huge black tub for my baby turtle outside, it’s exactly like the one seen on 9:02.
Can they eat beet greens?
Greg, why do you feed your turtles lettuce and not collards/cabbage/mustard greens? Just curious.
He doesn't mention it but I've always heard to never feed a turtle or tortoise iceberg lettuce
I said in the video, I rotate the greens I feed. Today happened to be green leaf lettuce. I also feed Collards, spring mix, romaine, green and red leaf, dandelion, mulberry leaves, and many others
Your collection has really exploded recently soon your gonna be rivaling kenan in tortoises
I’m not trying to rival anyone, but things have definitely grown.
Do you ever put meal and super worms in with the mix or do you avoid that altogether?
Nah, they can forage for things like that. Occasionally I’ll give them freeze dried krill and mazuri croc
What is Missouri?

I’d love to when things are safer 👍🏼
