Toji's mind had been twisted. His basic urges told him simply to go after the strongest. But when he regained control for a moment and thought about his son, he was filled with joy to know that Gojo kept his promise. Megumi wasn't a Zenin. He hadn't been sold off. And thus, to both protect his son if he lost control again and relief that his last wish before his death had been fulfilled, Toji took his own life. What a phenomenal character. Now, onto the main event. Sukuna vs JoGOAT. A lot of people were surprised at how Jogo speed blitzed Maki, Nanami and Noabito. But he's powerful. Had he gone up against a 2 or 3 finger Sukuna, he would've wiped the floor with him. He's about as strong as 8 or 9 fingers of Sukuna's power. But unfortunately, he fought Sukuna at 15 fingers. Nearly double the amount of power in fingers than the estimate "Geto" told him he was capable of. But even then, even Sukuna admits that some of Jogo's attacks would've still done damage if they had hit. Had it been against a 10 or 11 finger Sukuna, he would've struggled but he might've actually been able to land a hit. It wasn't that Jogo was weak, he just had the misfortune of facing the strongest sorcerer and the king of curses at nearly full power. Stand proud, Jogo. You're strong. Being complimented by the King Of Curses doesn't come easy. Now, Hanami, Dagon and Jogo have all moved on. Until they one day are born again. They have entrusted everything to Mahito.
I was confused on whether Toji could somehow assess that out of Naobito and Nanami, MEGUMI is the strongest, or if he recognized him as his son so thanks for clarifying. Would never have picked Megumi in a match between him and those two
@@neighborhoodk3477Well to be fair, Nanami and Naobito are super tired and injured, while Maki is simply an inferior Tojo right now. Meanwhile Megumi deployed a domain and Toji might’ve recognised the ten shadows technique at least since it’s a Zenin special.

Smth I wanna point out is Sukuna and Jogo’s last conversation. Jogo believes that he and cursed spirits are the “true humans”, because they are made up of negative emotions; of hate, fear, anger, regret, etc. He believes that all positive emotions are a front, a fake side that people are hiding behind and covering their true selfs. But in his final moments with Sukuna, he experienced some sense of joy, of pride, when Sukuna acknowledged his strength. I like to think that made him reconsider his ideology b4 passing on. Of what it means to be the “true humans”.
I can't get over how resourceful Toji was with his fights, its something that I've always wanted to see in villains. Sukana forcing people to not move is also something that I wanted to see in villians.
This episode was outsourced to Shota Goshozono who was the key animator for an ep of Mob Psycho, and was behind Chainsaw Man as well. He killed it with the directing and animation of this episode, as he also chose his key animators, the team really elevated these two fights to the max. Also Roshi quoted Miguel like 4 times during this episode 😂😂😂😂
No Go was not directing or was part of the staff in this episode. It was Miso who did mob psycho season 2 episode 5. But praying Go would do next episode
“Stand proud. You’re strong” Being acknowledged by the King of Curses is pretty wild. And “Not Zenin, huh? Good for you.” It hurts that we didn’t get to see more of Megumi and Toji interacting, but it’s so in character for him and makes him that much more interesting that he killed himself because he was proud his son was able to escape the Zenin clan.
the moment you can literally see toji recognize megumi made my heart ache but the fact he said “not zen’in huh? im glad” instead of “not zen’in huh? good for you” is such a drastic difference because he felt peace knowing that his own son didn’t have to deal with the zen’in clan and he killed himself knowing he can be happy knowing that and not having to kill him that scene is so important to his character ugh i love it the animators and directors did it so well
The level of Gojo Satoru and Ryomen Sukuna are a level far above anyone in the JJK world. That polarity makes them so interesting and enjoyable. As Kusakabe said, their level is like gods compared to everyone else.
based on what we know about the ten shadows , megumi is the only one with the potential to be on that level , the last limitless + six eyes user fought a ten shadows user and they killed each other . but megumi got a really shitty treatement in the manga.
@@gerhmanthefirsthoonter161nah, you just gotta be him, Megumi sadly wasn't. Plus given the fact that we're never told if previous Tens Shadows User actually tamed Mahoraga we don't actually know how they stacked up power wise...
@@theonewayroad3867 Major Manga Spoilers. I'm pretty sure that we are explicitly told that none of the previous Ten Shadows users have successfully tamed Mahoraga, but that does not mean that they cannot stack up to someone with Limitless and the Six Eyes. Maybe it's just because it's, well, Sukuna, but we see him do a lot with the other summons. Do you remember Sukuna's Nue? Obviously, Megumi is not on his level, but I can't imagine that a previous Ten Shadows users hasn't gotten... close-ish to making their summons as strong. Though I'm also pretty sure that it's also mentioned that what makes Gojo as great as he is is that he also mastered personal Reverse Technique, which allows him to stay on the up-and-up constantly. He did used to have to actively keep up Limitless, back before Toji happened to him.
@@frogger8136Possible Spoilers..... yeah I remember it but I just can't really see the previous Ten Shadows User pulling off the shit Sukuna did because aside from the obvious shit like Totality alot of the shit he did seemed like original uses like keeping his Divine Dogs partially manifested making the invincible while keep their attack potency by off setting the lost power with his own immense CE and using Shikigami abilities without manifesting the Shikigami itself seeing as Gojo is shocked by those techniques but hey unless Gege gives us a filler Arc of that fight we'll probably never know.
@@theonewayroad3867 "gotta be him ", dude megumi is a child and has a lot of room to grow , his potential has been hinted at many times , his skill level to be able to evade toji like for a period of time like that was the most impressive thing in this whole episode , most characters would get one shot by toji . plus he's been nerfing himself with his personnality like gojo said . him and yuji remind me of killua and gon , they can improve massively over short periods of time because of their crazy potential , and mahoraga is the most op character in jjk , it can adapt to any technique , probably even sukuna's space cleave . so ten shadows are definitely on that level to rival limitless+ six eyes .

I actually wouldn’t say he deeply cared, Toji was genuinely an emotionally detached sociopath who’d rarely have moments of affection. He cared about his son but I feel like the fan base has this desire to overly humanize him.
@@dream1430 Overly humanize him?? Lmfao what do yall be saying. The dude cared enough about his son to try and give him a better life bc living with him would be awful. As a manga reader i’am so happy that they let the animators add new stuff to make the fight more spectacular and longer to show their creative freedom in animation and even letting the director change the animation style to what he’s good at.. It resembles mob psycho and while they do kinda remove the shading it allows them to focus on the animation and make it more fluid.
Would never have picked Megumi in a match between him and those two
Cringed
@@neighborhoodk3477Well to be fair, Nanami and Naobito are super tired and injured, while Maki is simply an inferior Tojo right now. Meanwhile Megumi deployed a domain and Toji might’ve recognised the ten shadows technique at least since it’s a Zenin special.
@@joushua4428 Megumi was the strongest there due to his CT and potential and another power I don't want to spoil. megumi was in fact the strongest one there
@@neighborhoodk3477 you'll see next week the power/potential that sukuna and Toji saw in Megumi

@@theonewayroad3867
Major Manga Spoilers.

I kinda cried for toji here. He lost his way but he still deeply cared for megumi. He never openly admitted it because he was lost in his own way too. But when he realized he hurt his kid he backed off and when he realized gojo saved his kid he finally rested in peace.

Some might not like it but i love it, Let’s just appreciate what the animators have done and what they achieved with the small time they got.

The animators of this season really outdid themselves again, this episode is even better than the previous one(Dagon vs Toji), and Yuji vs Choso imo because of the action choreography being mixed with the scenery.
