absolute mind blow as one of the first ps2 games- fmv level graphics in game! the sequel kicks up the combat- a must have if you ain't got it but leo is pain to beat on the other end! (currently replaying)
this was 1 of my favourite games ever as a kid. the idea of your character being some 9-14 year old kid atcualy works for giving u the feeling as ur just a kid whos found an awesome but scary robot in some massive war you dont know about. 1 of the best games ive ever played
I remember first experiencing this game on the Jampack demo discs that used to exist. Out of all of the demos on there, this one got the most attention from me. I believe the demo went all the way up to the Tempest fight. This was about 2001, and it wouldn't be until a few years ago when I happened across it on PS2. Needless to say, this is my favorite game of all time. My only wish is that they'd make a third one already.
My neighbor once let me borrow her copy of jampack disc and this what got me into zoe and i was determined to find a full copy of zoe in the flee market After three weekend later i finally found it But it only had the zoe disc and not mgs2 demo disc
I too have fond memories of replaying this on Jampack back then! Z.O.E and ICO were the games I kept coming back too until I eventually had the money to buy them. I'm happy to say I have the collectors edition of Z.O.E. 1&2 at last!
It’s 2022 came to watch this for the feels. My dad got me a ps2 for Xmas when it launched. All I had was a demo disc that had the zone of Enders demo on it. Watched this video and intro at least 30 times. That had to be almost 20 years ago. Hearing it takes me right back to my room.
This game was the best game I ever played on PS2, I still remember the intro so vividly and when I heard the menu music, it was nostalgia. Can't believe this was 2001, Jehuty and ZOE hold a special place in my memory for some reason. What a great name for an orbital frame, and the gameplay was totally fucking awesome. I liked this even more than Metal Gear Solid, way better story telling. More linear, less schizophrenic, pushed more boundaries. MGS was cool but I really only remember the one for PS1, which was way better than MGS3. Never got to play MGS2 unfortunately.
When I bought ZOE, it was still quite early days for the PS2, and I was buying it mainly because it looked like one of the few available games that I would really enjoy. Apparently, many people were buying it just for the MGS2 demo disc, but in PAL territories some of the demo discs had manufacturing faults and wouldn't load. The store clerk kept going on about how they wouldn't accept a return if the demo disc didn't work. I was very confused because he was so adamant about it but I had no idea what he was talking about (I didn't even know the game came with a demo disc until I saw the cover in the store). He finally realised that I was in the dark and explained the situation to me, but that sure was a weird 30 seconds, ha ha!
Ahhh as soon as I heard the song and the intro my memory clicked. I remember playing the first one and I would always let my enemies hit me with their attacks before I had around 1 hit remaining to survive and start fighting from there. The song would play in my head making each battle just epic! I hope they make a Z.O.E 3 and I'm definitely get the HD collection someday!
I like how seeing the opening intro and hearing the song play can still give me the chills throughout the whole video, even tho I haven't played ZOE in years.
I remember in 2002 beating this Game more than 20 times on PS2 and I also remember getting up every School day early in the morning at like 4 AM just to play it after getting ready for School. Now that it's 2018 and I can finally play this Game again on Xbox One since my PS2 died so long again and my PS3 died back in 2017. I have never actually started playing Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner but I will be glad to try it on PS4 for the Remaster.
I don't think I could ever play this game again. For fear that I'm just remembering it nostalgically and that I wouldn't think it was as good as I used too :\
This was the first game I bought when I got my PS2 and through it I got to know metal gear solid 2 and those two games have the best storyline ever, not only that but the graphics on zoe were amazing...stunning!
Damn, this video brings back memories of me playing this back in my home country when I didnt know english. The only words I could pick out were Viola and Leo. I must've been around 6 when I first saw that cutscene and it still gives me chills. The opening song gives me such nostalgia its unbelievable.
OMG i miss playing thhis game sooo much! it was awesome! Although i was too young to understand it really. it was still soo Awesome! I want to play this game again! Thanks for the upload! Thumbs UP to all you Zone of the Enders fans!!!

Ifeel the same way as gibhates , i played this game years ago and it seems SOO long and life has changed SOO much since then. I loved this game, and for some reason it has always held a place in my memory.
I got to try this demo while on a road trip in the back of an SUV. I remember crying at the intro because his friends died. The music and the game just sets into your mind forever.
This game always reminded me of a mix between Gundam 0079, Evangelion..and a little bit of Metroid with the boss battles. Guess that's why I love it so much lol, just wish it had the skirmish mode from ZOE 2
21 years later i still reminisce of this classic game storyline & gameplay was awsome remembering me getting this with sons of liberty when the ps2 had dropped .. we need a remake or a part 3
I started playing this game when I was in the 2nd grade back in 2004-2005. No offense, but I think Second Runner is a better game, I think the in game cutscenes of this game have aged badly and this is coming from someone who loves XenoSaga, I also couldn’t stand Leo, I found him so fucking whiny that he was just so unlikeable. Dingo was a way better protagonist to me.
i bought this game with my playstation 2 when i was 11 years old for christmas. i remember it had the metal gear solid 2 demo included in it. omg i love those times.

Hideo Kojima (the creator of ZoE) has actually stated that he's interested in making a sequel to the game now that he's finished with the Metal Gear Solid series for the time being. So cross your fingers because there's a good chance he'll end up announcing it soon. :D
That scene, with the bent lightpost and the blood pouring out from under that mech, traumatized me as a kid and was forever etched into my brain.
this intro made me buy this game. and i've never regret it
This game was my very first ps2 game and I still love it too this day

This game concept is a master piece. Beautifuly awesome.
This game really freaked me out as a kid (on the demo), yet I was very intrigued by it and played it a ton.
Anyone one else play the demo when they were younger?
Yes
yeah buddy, seemed more cataclysmic in my child mind.
YEAH!!!!
Yeah
Yeah and I am still traumatized from his friends getting crushed and him not being able to do a damn thing about it.
Does anyone remember how the MGS 2 demo was playable when you purchased this game or rented it?
I played that demo alot. Never played it right once I think. Just like I always got stuck half way through zoe when I was younger
Pretty sure that’s the reason I bought it.
Yeah

"It's all Leo's fault! He made us come here!"
I remember hearing that back in 3rd grade.
Some friends. Still bad how they died. But man that rubbed me the wrong how they threw him under the bus like that.

I remember the game did not have a fucking clue what I was doing at the time😂😂, I first played it on ps2
"ZOE, taking the term 'cockpit' to literally since 2001" lol man love this series cant wait for the HD remake

Everyone's tears
in my heart... in my heart...
I lost it, that day
Seeking... Seeking....
Rain falls on the dark window
It glistens, waiting, [a flying voice]
Wishing to go
Angel heart, so many heart,
kiss me sunlights (light...)
Fly to the dark, set soul free,
hold me moonshine! (moonlight...)
Until my rumbled hand lead
to the end of time, (end of night...)
find me in your eyes... (fly me... fly me... fly me...)
Fly the di and faysay chido
You hold me, hold me...
Until I can slowly give you
moonshine, moonshine...
(interlude)
Amidst the stars
alone... alone...
The fire-haired samurai of my dreams,
staring... staring...
You can not see the self now
To the sky above
we would like to fly
Fantaria, tempesta, it`s my Odessey
Go higher, among the hearts
of around the rings (moonlight...)
Until I feel new dawn bloom
on the silent sea (silent sea...)
Sing for me your song (fly me...)
Angel heart, so many heart,
kiss me sunlights (light)
Fly to the dark, set soul free,
hold me moonshine! (moonlight...)
Until my rumbled hand lead
to the end of time, (end of night...)
