When someone first told me that the most famous German food is döner I thought that was a joke. After spending a few weeks in Germany and getting 1/2 of my diet from döners, I suddenly realized that was truth not a joke.

Ich bin Syrer, und möchte euch gerne mitteilen, dass es Döner in Syrien seit mehr als 150 Jahren gibt. Allerdings wird der Döner-Dürüm aus gegrilltes Hühnerfleisch mit Mayo reserviert aber zum Dürüm aus Lammfleisch werden Petersilie und Granatapfel Sirup zugefügt.
Das klingt auch sehr lecker! 😃
@@EasyGerman Unser Döner ist mit wenigen Zutaten aber echt lecker. Man kann mindestens das Fleisch schmecken😋, denn mit viel Salat sollte man den Döner Dönersalat nennen. 😂

Omg Turkish people will triger :D In Turkey we only put Kebab, Green salad, Onions, Pickles, Tomato. No chese, no ketchup, no yogurt. The meat is different. The meat that you have in Ankara is unprocessed meat. It only marinated with onion water. And the slices of meat is hand build into a Doner tower and waits in a cold room for 3 days. At least 5 people is hanging the meat into a doner while they building up. The best doner is at Ankara by far as a meat quality. In city of Hatay they also put tomato paste inside the doner.

Döner kebab was discovered in Bursa in the 1850s. The first Döner kebab restaurant was opened in Istanbul in 1945. Turks who immigrated to Germany had no inventions about döner kebab. We didn't steal Pergamon, this is the common heritage of humanity. We invented the Berlin Döner, a signature of this cultural friendship lol.
In super easy German they talked slowly and pronounced the word one by one clearly.

Just because a Turkish guest worker brought it to Germany doesn't mean it was invented there. Döner is from Ottoman times and exists since the 17th century. It's like saying Schnitzel was invented in Istanbul.
I think Manuel just referred to the "Dönertasche" version, the one where Döner is served in a bread with salat and sauce :)

Yes, I meant the specific sandwich, not just the combination of meat and bread that goes by the same name. We (and by "we" I mean Isi) did some fact checking during the shoot and this is what we found:

Als ich in Berin war, Ich fuhr jeden abend von Neue Synagogue nach Schlesische Strasse, Kreuzberg zum Kebab essen. Es war Kofta Kebab Teller und war sehr lecker.
Wissen sie schon? Ayran ist einfach yogurt mit Salz und Wasser. Es ist billiger, zuhause zumachen.

Ayran ist wie Apfelschorle in der Türkei, und die beiden sind sehr lecker und gesund.
Doner is a Turkish food. I think you shouldn't give wrong information to people. It's dated more than 150 years. There is even a photo of Döner in Istanbul from the year 1855

Ich glaube das ist vor allem bei Gemüsekebabs so. Sie haben noch gegrilltes Gemüse und manchmal Schafskäse und Zitrone im Brot dazu.

I suspect you have been marketed at here. Doners were not invented in Berlin. Were in similar form in Melbourne before 1972 - and apparently elsewhere.

@nPlatin Ich stimme nicht viel zu. Allererstens, das Fett in sich ist nicht ungesund, das ist eine unbegründete Behauptung der Medizin. Wir, als Menschen brauchen eigentlich Fett. Unser Gehirn besteht aus 70% Fett. Wir brauchen jede Art von tierlichen Fett, z.B. Butter. Das Phosphat könnte bedenklich sein aber es ist selbst nicht genug die Nieren kaput zu machen. Jedoch gibt es eine Sache die jede Art von gebratenen Fleisch bloss ungesund machen kann und sie ist übermäßiges Braten/Backen/Brennen.

Its so surprising that this episode came out so late, making a doner order is the very first vocabulary i learnt and mastered perfectly when I was living in Berlin, because you just get addicted to this delicious shit in berlin. Sometimes two per day. I could make a list of best doner places in berlin. The ones on adalbertstrasse, U warschauer strasse and albertinenstrasse are my favorites. And beef shawarma near Oranienburger tor, they have homemade ayran and mango sauce, GO THERE!

Because tacos are actually the Mexican version of the Lebanese dish "shawarmas" that the Libanese imported to Mexico centuries ago and both Lebanon and Turkey are in the same geographical region so they share a lot of common dishes.
Wer einmal Berlin besucht, sollte unbedingt im Mustafa’s Kebap am Mehringdamm essen. Die Berliner sagen, es ist das Beste in der Stadt.
