This song is written from the perspective of a broken hearted woman, who is on the verge of leaving her longtime spouse. So often do we hear a man, complaining and whining about how she wronged him, or we hear a woman in a more submissive tone suggesting she's unhappy. I wanted to do a song where a woman was mercilessly telling her boyfriend/husband that she doesn't feel bad about the fact that she's leaving him to find someone who treats her better. Divorce/break ups are hard. Enjoy and cope.

Your comment is kinda the one that shows how fucked up society is. This women is just standing up for herself, this guy didn’t show her any love, she cited specific instances where he ignored her. She wasn’t asking for a lot, she wanted him to take her out on a nice date or let her sit in the front. Hey Mac.You are probably not going to see this,but if you do.please read it....It's a long story but I hope that by telling it to you,you understand why this song hits home for me.My dad died like when I was 9.My mom fell into major depression and became an alcoholic with an abusive boyfriend who would hit me and my sister.One day while in a drunken rage they both attacked me.He wanted me to leave school and go to work...mind you I was maybe 14 or 15 at the time....My education was the only thing that I had that was mine at the time and I just refused to drop out to support their drinking and drug habits...you see when I was In kindergarten.i told my real dad I hated school while he walked me to school and he told me...he hated work too. But sometimes you have to do somethings you don't enjoy doing so you can get to do the things you do like to do.I was 6 at the time do I told him tho explain it to me more.he said he goes to work so he can earn money to support us...my mom my sis and me..give us every thing we wanted.The only thing he wanted in return was for me to go to school,do well get a great job so I didn't have to work hard....I should work smart....so at 6 years old I promised my dad is do him proud..work hard at school and never let his name down.so you see why I wouldn't leave when my mom and bf told me to....I guess I still didn't wanna let my dad down.btw he had a brain aneurysm at 33 years old we never saw it coming.he hanged on in hospital for 10 days on the 9th day the docs allowed for my sis and me to see him they said it might help for his recovery..he couldn't move or talk...but when I was leaving,tears rolled from his eyes.The next day he was gone....My mom was 28 at the time she was a housewife.he was her first and only love and she couldn't cope... looking back now I feel so sad for her but back then I hated her for getting a bf.i thought she was trying to replace my dad.when all the time that jerk was just praying on a young widow.he convinced her that she needed him.so my sis and I endured years of abuse becoz of it.mom fell pregnant when I was 14...her bf did it coz he realised that in a few years I would be old enough to care for her and she wouldn't need him anymore....so the baby was meant to be the glue he used to make himself permanent in our lives.So anyways he said I should leave school..neither of them did.I ended up taking care of the house chores and the new baby with my baby sisters help...she was 12 at the time.we would feed baby go to school come home clean hous e.eat our first meal at around 3pm,take care of baby..do homework.sometimes baby would be crying hungry with a diaper full of shit and piss...one day we came home and he was covered in ants...they would get high or whatever and be knocked out in their room ...so one day after my mom held me down while her bf goes to get a knife to cut me for refusing to leave school I manage to escape.he had already hit me with a vodka bottle in my face breaking my tooth...I ran like hell.no shoes no nothing....if you want to know more just let me know...I don't want you to read such a looooong story and take up all of your time.sorry.
