Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry about the rain! It’s been ruining a lot of my stuff and plans too and we’re supposed to be getting more nasty rain this weekend too 🤦🏻♀️ and a potential hurricane next week! I feel like you seem to have the most issues at this night market. I am so so sorry. 😢
Thank you for your concern 🤧 I was speaking with a few other vendor friends and they said 626 Arcadia wasn't like this before, there must have been some changes this time
yayyy new maci vlog!! it's honestly refreshing to see a vlog where things don't meet your expectations cus it brings relatability to your channel! i made lots of mistakes as a beginner artist doing artist alleys and i haven't really seen many vlogs that reassure me that sometimes events don't go as planned
It definitely helps seeing the other side of events when they don't go as well. We can't always have AX-level revenue and sometimes I need to remind myself of that 😂
Hi, lovely! So sorry the weekend was a bummer. I do hope you get to decompress soon from the burnout. Don't forget to take care of yourself and know we all love ya and appreciate you. Thanks for sharing not only the ups, but the downs. It helps give others an idea of what to expect while you get to vent a bit, so in a way, it's a win-win? 😅 Keep your head high, you got this. Here's to hoping the next one is better! ❤
It's super common at cons. There are serial con stealers as well who you'll see posts about warning you to keep an eye out for them. Check the hashtags for your con to see if anyone posts about them
I saw that at events as well. People were always unsure about who was the author if I had someone helping me with my table. I finally got a shirt that says Author on it so they know but its always nice to tell them anyway.
I was there!! (week 1 day 2 ⭐) You were not at the booth at the time but I loved seeing everything you had! I would say you covered this 626 Market pretty well. It felt underwhelming to me as a customer, compared to other 626 Markets. With such dim lighting, tables so spread apart and the rain fluctuating, made for me to want to leave early as well. For sure would agree that the dim tables were not getting my attention as much ( I am glad to have come out when there was still decent light out😌). I hope to see you next time at another event!! Thank you for being transparent about the experience and what to expect with costs as well. I never thought it would be $800 for a space so ty for that insight!💖💖
The badge is fun. I never double dip in the same location. With outdoor shows in the summer, I always plan for rain in my area. With Ohio weather, it’s easy to get caught off guard by a pop up storm. Everything I take to shows is in plastic. Paper will get trashed by the humidity so I blow one print or comic as a sample.
Thanks for sharing! It definitely depends on where the event is located. Luckily here in LA, most summer events are pretty predictable and we mostly have to deal with intense heat and sunlight
I agree, I can definitely see the state of the economy slowly affecting events with the increase in layoffs among other things. I think the post-2020 events are starting to level off as there are so many happening now
The whole "I pretty much only covered my costs, I paid 800 dollars for this" threw me off because I've been to like 3 events myself and 2 times I made 10 bucks, no kidding. I mean if those 800 bucks all go towards covering your costs that sucks of course but it just came out of left field for me :D (My 3rd event I made 47 bucks, yay)
I was definitely not at this level when I started! It helps that I have more merch and a social media presence vs. when I began doing events, but doing these more often definitely helped build it up to what I have now
Can you make a video about selling fanart of Pokémon and other anime characters legally, I wanna start making Pokémon designs but worried about copyright.
Fan art is a tricky subject as it is infringing on IP unless you officially license it, which most artists in Artist Alley do not do due to costs, etc. I can't advise on it, however, you are putting yourself at risk when creating fan art

Thank you so much for your kind words! Definitely took a few days off to get some rest after 626 🤧
Those r some nasty people if theyre tryna steal from small businesses ☠
It's awful! I don't understand why anyone would do that

the new artist badge is super cute!!
Thank you so much!

I love the idea of having a shirt so people know 😂

Thank you so much for your input! It also helps to hear your thoughts from the attendee point of view

sorry to hear it didn't go well! I feel like I've heard a lot of people say this recently, maybe it's partly to do with the cost of living 🥺
