Leffe deserves a lot of recognition. He has been a true gentleman, an excellent hiking companion, and compassionate friend to Stella on this hike. I think Stella would have had an extremely difficult time finishing this hike if it had not been for Leffe and Coyote. True gentleman of the trail.

Thanks Stella for always having a video every single day of your hike! Lots of hard work editing and scheduling. You were probably hiking this section when we were camping in Maine a couple of weeks ago and the weather and bugs were miserable! Everything got soaked. This was a very interesting video, I really liked it!

Isn't it wonderful to have a hiking buddy!?! Imagine doing that hike solo. I know you are quite independent but the comraderie with Leffe prolly made it bearable.

What’s the most interesting wildlife you’ve encountered on the trip?
Wow Stella and Lefty I was extremely worried till you said you would take an alternate route AWAY from the river crossings. I cannot express just how dangerous those swollen river crossing are with words I'm sad your last portion of the trail will not be 100% blue skies with puffy white clouds and light breezes but I know you will safely make it because both of you are incredibly smart, seasoned, long distance hikers.
Thank you for taking time to edit videos in spite of all the challenges you are facing. You are SO brave to cross these swollen rivers. They can be quite treacherous. What a great experience you are having!
Its probably good your pack is relatively new as far as waterproofing. Even though it's inevitable, being wet never gets easier. Godspeed to you and Leffe through the next 100 miles. ✌️

Happy to see you with Leffe on this 5 day journey. You are a atrong hiker but anything can happen and it is good to not be alone when you are this far from any type of help. He looks like a great trail companion as well. Hope you get everything s dried out as possible. Keep as warm as possible and eat well to keep your strength up and to stay healthy.

For me, walking in the rain and being challenged by nature is enjoyable misery. I have done that on my days boating on the water and hiking. However, Day 117 was a good educational tutorial. Oh my goodness, I didn't envy one thing about this day. I sure hope you had something dry to sleep in this night. Would it be possible to hike the entire AT if you took off all the rainy days 😂?

All of the rain and river water has to be a significant pain to deal with. The new shoes sound good but hope you're not walking in soaked feet all of the time 😧
