To think that the key to saving these kids from dying everytime they pilot the Zearth are two of the deadliest Deus Ex Machinas that Tomino has ever come up with...
Then again, Tomino's message even in the two darkest works he made still has a glimmer of hope through reincarnation and chance that even in death the souls will learn from their mistakes in the next world and the psychoframe and IDE has been known to ensure the dead has a chance to speak to those that are dying or is a newtype to continue on. Here the IDE and psychoframe does the same with cast of Bokurano who interacted with the SRW cast, for Ushiro to realize that he is a hero and he and Machi must keep living for the rest of others and protect their Earth and what is precious to them
@@ES21007 Cosmo quoted that the Ide didn't really do anything to allow Jun to survive. Moreso being the combination of the Ide, and more importantly the Psychoframe is what did it. Remember that the Psychoframe can call upon the souls of the dead as what happened in Z and ZZ. After Jun destroyed Zearth, he heard the voices of the past Bokurano pilots before waking up at the hospital. So what likely happened was that the Psychoframe+Ide called upon the past Bokurano pilots and offered themselves for the Zearth to feed upon instead.
It was kinda expected that there won't be Bokurano enemies. Even Bokurano's team itself has problems with motivation fighting them in original story, but any kind of guests from different world would have even harder time with participating in "the game" knowing all the consequences. Why fight for either side if you destroy the world either way?
The gist is that the Amuro, Char, and the Ideon and Ryvius teams were fighting off the Buff Clan when they got transported into the Bokurano world. Their appearance effectively changed the 'game', so the Bokurano kids fight the Buff Clan instead. Each time the Bokurano is deployed, it causes a reaction to both the Ide and the Psychoframes, which was what allowed Jun (the last Bokurano pilot) to survive after he destroyed the Zearth at the end. Jun and Kana get to live normal lives while everyone returns to their own world.

OH GOD, that combination of series....despair is set to absolute maximum!
Except ironically, it ended up way more hopeful than before because Ideon stopped the death games.

It looks so weird seeing Zearth look so fragile when, in fact, he’s 500 meters tall.

I wish this was translated, what a real bummer

So none of the opponent machines from the series appear as bosses in this event?
Using Ideon Gun in the middle of a city?
Right? The fact there's even an planet left is an miracle.
...where are the lasers?
