An Ordinary Swedish Windsurfer doing extra-ordinary speeds! My target is 30kts some day.... maybe in 2025... but I was saying it in 2024 and it didn't happen. What gear, board, saip did you first hit 30 with? Think I may struggle with ezzy cheetahs and my 5.4 epace 🤙🇬🇧🇸🇪
@@DILLIGAF-e4r a good target to start with , you can reach over 30knots with basically any gear when you get used to the speed. my first time over 30 was with freeride gear tabou guru 125l and gaastra pilot 5.4. try to fall off the wind more than you think. look for flat spots in that direction , between waves or behind islands . you wont be able to reach 30knots over chop when your learning. so look for flat water and go deep downwind. what fin do you use? a carbon fin on freeride gear will definitely help alot giving you confident to go faster since the board will be way more stable than with a freeride fin.
@ordinaryswedishwindsurfer got a 45cm select carbon on the tabou 135lt. Only a tatty drake r2r 42cm on the futura. Been thinking of getting 39 or 41 select carbon for it a while... maybe this is the time🤙
@@DILLIGAF-e4r what setup do you feel most comfotable with ? select slm or similar will absolutely be no problem to get you over 30, if you find a used full carbon slalomfin it will work well to. dont mind scratches etcbits easy to repair and it doesn't make that big difference as many say. what size is the futura? i got a 130l/80cm tabou with 45cm fin, it works great but i use it in such light winds with 8.6 so its hard to get speed with it
@@ordinaryswedishwindsurfer my most comfortable is 6.5 ezzy cheetah and tabou 135 (85 wide); yet to have it fly up out of control yet, so reckon it has some speed left in it... above the 26kts I've had out of it. I squeezed 27kts out the futura once and reckon that has a bit left if I have the nerve to go deep enough. We get really flat westerlies, but tend to be gusty, so really need to read the wind....
@@ordinaryswedishwindsurfer the futura is 117lt and 77cm wide. Nice when it gets going... just takes a bit more grunt than the Tabou 135. I'll def look at a slm select in 2025 for the futura👍
