Waldron was shaking in fear every time the camera it to him. Hands trembling.
Facts. I noticed that too. His call sheet was about to jump out his hands. SMH.
Couldn't figure that out he might have health concerns
I noticed this also
People have tremors, it’s common. He still sucks tho
LMAO the play call sheet was literally shaking
Haven't finished watching, but I feel like the answer to the titular question is, yes. Caleb improved. The O-line had troubles, especially in the second half, but Flus was right. It wasn't just the line. Rough patches can get better. Thank you Tim Jenkins for helping show the reality that there is still hope.
This guy always makes me feel better about Bears games. Tim Jenkins for OC
Good to hear there were any positives. Didn’t see many watching it live. Creativity is really good, good things to come if we stay QB-healthy.
Why is NOBODY talking about the missed roughing call on drive 15?! Literally not a single video going over the game has talked about it... Hunter launches off the ground VISIBLY and directly into Caleb's head... This is INSANE that nobody is talking about this...
@@andrewkamide4977 because the referees gave the bears every chance in the world to win the game… they called the Texans for holding on defense ON A RUN PLAY there’s was 5 minutes straight of flags helping the bears
@@DylanCicherskiso you're saying that refs should not call penalties anymore? If a team commits a penalty, it should be called. Don't even try to act like the refs were favoring the bears in any way, cause that is BS. That's their job. Do it, or get fired so someone else can do it better.
Because he didn’t maybe go get your eyes checked
@@andrewkamide4977 I understand your bias towards the bears and you probably didn’t even watch the game live but there was definitely a bias towards the bears. Explain a defensive holding penalty on a run play
Because nothing like that happened on the 15th drive of the game. Edwards gave him a shot to the chest and Anderson sacked him, but Hunter didn't launch at Caleb or tackle Caleb anywhere on that drive. I'm a life long Bears fan, but there is no evidence supporting your claim.
What time was it in the game, so we can look at what you're talking about and discuss?
Haven't watched a single minute of this yet, but I am praying we talk about the offensive line for 25 of this 50 minutes.
Same with Justin yal did him dirty he was getting way better this is why yal a poverty franchise at least JF had the athleticism to offset the bad online play should of gave JF weapons and fixed the oline
@@mikeymishima7167you didnt watch the game , caleb is super athletic and broke a ton of sacks this game
Disagree, the part you conveniently forget is that we were gonna have to pay him 40 million when he’s not worth that. Also you don’t extend guys like DJ Moore or bring in Keenan.
Caleb is the future, I loved Justin and wish him the best but he was shellshocked and took significantly longer to get rid of the ball than Caleb. He would be worse off with Waldron at OC.
@@ttg8056 shifty not athletic
great breakdown, i like how you gave props to the o line at the things they did good. it feels like everyone talks about the negatives only. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great analysis as always!
Great break down! Obvious where the focus needs to be vs. the first few series when we were on the move . Nice quick routes, ball out of his hand quick, beautiful!
i think the Bears are fine. they've played 2 very difficult Dlines.
Game 1 they had sweat and simmons and landry and it was calebs first game.
Game 2: they had hunter and anderson for the texans home opener.
Williams looked much better in game 2 when he wasnt pressured. now, they just have to figure out what they are going to do when they are pressured.
but williams can read a defense pretty well.
i am a bit worried why we dont run from under center and try play action. this is reminding me a bit of matt nagy that would put mitch in shotgun all the time.
the next 6 games should be much much better.
Caleb did better but Swift was disappointing we need better RB performance
@@evilwestsidefan9249
i have never though that swift is a starting RB in the NFL. he is a great 3rd down/change of pace guy. he is a great "lightning" to someones "thunder". we should not be in shotgun and running swift on 1st down. its just stupid.
Waldron had a great blueprint in seattle. Power runners (walker and charbonnet). 3 WR sets. run with run action. i have no idea what he is doing in chicago.
he is treating Caleb like his manning/brady in their primes. he is allowing teams to throw the kitchen sink at williams. they may need to pare it back a little bit.
@@shake6321 he better get that run game going otherwise Caleb might get hurt. You build off the run and getting 1st downs
@@evilwestsidefan9249 i agree with you. but any team that has swift as their #1 RB might not be that serious about running the ball - which is insane.
I think the next couple games we will see if Caleb can take advantage of lesser performing teams
Can’t say enough about how this is going to save my week. They played much better than i thought. Means it’s evolving and Waldron is going to have good film on picking up stunts to keep Caleb alive for final drive. Nate didn’t do terrible. Neither did the center or Waldron. We got a chance to get better. Thank you.
Nate was horrible. Shelton was much better. Our tackles played against elite DEs, so they were going to have some issues. This week, it's back to the interior DL being good, but I expect Shelton to play better than he did against the Titans. I'd move Tevin back to RG and put Pryor in at LG. Nate Davis' effort is too questionable.
@@duvolthompson1705 agree but I like Tevin working on the left until Pryor gets a shot on the RT side. They look good there when he’s on the right.. much more calm.. He’s big. We need some road grader stuff using The Texas back mixed in. Fundamentals is right but fundamentals and process is all we will get from Flus from here on. However it worked with his D. So.
@@346rt fair point on keeping Tevin on the left and letting Pryor play where he played in the preseason.
@@duvolthompson1705 yeah the idea is Tev hasn’t played there for awhile. I think Pryor will be an update whenever it happens and Caleb will to know more of what to expect. Flus is a fool for keeping Pryor out of the game. You can’t get to second level until you block the first level. Just thinking out loud. Seems lineman to better depending on the guy next to them. Pryor seemed to calm the ‘hair on fire’ routine when he played. Big guy.
44:47 man when Caleb isn’t overthinking things(like the one is he staring down dj Moore on the pick) and the game slows down even more and he is just letting it rip he is gonna be special also when we get a revamped oline…. And oline coach.
Not necessarily
Great breakdown Tim!! On the ball to DJ at 44:47, one thing you didn't mention is the in-game improvement from the pick earlier. On the pick on the throw to DJ earlier in the game he stared him down from the start but on this play it looks to me like he wanted to go to DJ the whole time but held the safety first to give DJ a true one-on-one. And I'm with you, I love DJ Moore and am happy the Bears are finally paying and extending the right players but he has to come down with that ball.
Your breakdown videos are so good man!! I appreciate you!!
Love the breakdown and the repeated use of "Biscuits". Seems like someone's kids watch Bluey as much as mine do.
Always enjoy watching these
Love the Videos keep em coming!

That play at 6:55 looks like a bubble fake, if you watch DJ's initial movements he steps towards the defender as if he's blocking which makes the off defender take a step towards the sideline creating extra space for DJ's real route.
another good show.. thanks for the content!
Love the breakdowns, Tim! Could you shed some light on the accuracy aspect of Caleb's play in the last two weeks? This didn't seem to be an issue in the pre-season, so I'm wondering if it's a function of him being a rookie and just the swaths of information that he's trying to digest while adapting to the game at the NFL level? I'm really just wondering how big of a problem this is. Thanks for all your work!
Thank you for always covering Da Bears!!! My favorite team and now my favorite channel.
Caleb is fine. Hard to do anything when no one is blocking
First drive ended with a concussion so I'm just gonna blame that and root blindly for my team till the end of time.
But you guys put all the blame on Fields tho
@@CorneilusGreen not i
Great Bears offensive breakdown!! Love it
It’s so hard because the lows leave suuuuuch a bad taste in your mouth - especially after watching Caleb get hammered on damn near every play - but there are a LOT of positives. Need to get on the same page with the receivers and REALLY need them to hit one of those shot plays to build some confidence.
I think they’re closer than it tends to feel after the game.
Wow great video man, I felt it was really objective, Caleb definitely a few head scratchers, but it wasn't all bad, some really nice passes in there. Good commentary on the Oline as well, when they were succeeding, we were succeeding. Unfortunately, they had some even worse head scratchers, Nate Davis is killing us, and even Jenkins and Wright had complete gaffs. I hope it gets better somehow, or this is gonna be a rough season.
Ah yes, either the cure or fuel for my Bears depression. Just starting off, but give me some hope Tim!
Like always, awesome breakdown the film study. Thank you for the intake.
On the no grade holding penalty that the Texans DB picked off Rome literally stopped running his route that’s unacceptable imo. Rome had the highest contested win rate in college that’s his MO & there was no safety over the top on that side it’s a 50/50 ball had Rome kept running his route he stopped running after 15 yards.
Missed the fact Rome stopped/slowed in live. Absolutely unacceptable, he looks like he 'gave up' mid way through the route.
@@Wheels35 Yea it’s not good the entire all 22 has some very disturbing WR effort issues all throughout it and I know people won’t like it but DJ was a culprit on quite a few. The play where Kmet whiffed his block DJ slips a tiny bit coming out of his initial release and he just gives up on the slant and gets Caleb killed. Me personally I don’t like how DJ is acting and Keenan seems like the only WR working with Caleb you see it during the live game. Now it may just be a 1 game thing but if it persists that’s not good at all.
Yes, yes, yes, Rome has run several wrong or poor routes and is not doing Caleb any favors. The Bears are going to regret not taking the best non-quarterback in the draft: Brock Bowers.
rome was injured most of the week I dont think he was 100%
@@guiseppe2862 It's WAY to early to be making judgements on rookie players. It's game two. As fans, we've got to be patient. If this is happening in week 15, then I'm a bit more concerned. Pump the brakes
I’ll do your HVAC! Love your shows. The details are good
From ex UK DC - enjoyed the breakdown
Love it
Give him time. He's a rookie going through growing pains.
Great review & content!
Great analysis!
Fantastic breakdown
Awesome analysis, Tim! I felt like Caleb improved as well, especially when considering the relentless pressure he was under. Obviously, he has to be better with his accuracy deep, which I think will happen if they can protect him better. He also has to fight the urge to be the hero like he was on the interception intended for Kmet. The DJ pick was the right decision. He just missed the throw. Overall, I think more times than not, he's making the right read, so the process on his part is good. If that continues, we should be better results from CW.
Great insights! I always look forward to your videos covering the Bears QBs.
Thanks
YES. THANK YOU Tim
Thank you
Great breakdown
So many new pieces for the offense. They need time to jell together. I am hoping we see nice improvement in the 2nd half of the season compared to the 1st.
Appreciate you, Tim! Wish you got your kids college paid for by the Rome TD drop.
Thanks Tim
Kmet was probably dredding watching that play in film...I know the feeling
1hr! Let’s jump in!
Great job Tim
Cole Kmet didnt miss his guy coming down line to block DE Will Anderson because on that play it was an RPO and Kmet is Run blocking Will Anderson from getting to Swift, it is on Caleb to give that ball to Swift or deal with the free release the End is getting if he dont bite on the run.
Compliments to Chef
CENTER & RIGHT GUARD HAS TO GO!!
90% of teams in the nfl can say this. ultimately, your QB and OC have to win you games in the NFL. bad center or guard play isnt an excuse. those are some of the least paid and lowest drafted positions on the field for a reason
Nate davis can't get benched soon enough. Unfortunately for cw nates replacement is on i.r right now.
@@shake6321I just do not agree. Like Tim said: „How are you supposed to play QB behind that?“ 90% of the team have at least ok protectors, we have non right now. #18 got hit by 4! many times, so where is the Oline.
@@Martin_R18
The oline and williams did great when they were NOT blitzed. that means the oline held up 1 on 1.
he got blitzed 30+ times. QB's dont get blitzed that much. why did he get blitzed? because of the oline or because he is a rookie?
on 30 blitzes, how many QB pressures do you expect? zero? 5. 10?
The oline didnt do great but Caleb and the OC did even worse.
5 olineman are designed to protect against 4 or 5, not 6 and 7.
WE have to do a better job of seeing pressure and having routes ready to go against pressure. we cant expect an oline to play great against a blitz on the road against will anderson and hunter. what olines do that?
@@shake6321 it’s obvious why they blitzed. Let’s get that straight, we talking professional football here. I demand everyone in the Bears organisation to do their job. The waterboy knew the Texans game plan. It’s just interesting to me our coaching staff didn’t. We don’t need to point out all issues the coaching staff has, my comment was focusing the LT to RT. No run game, no transition, Texans defensive players hitting #18 untouched while LT and LG blocking one DE … that in fact is far away from professional football. And that is in combination with the playcalling the fault of the offensive line. Period.
I've lost track of how many years I've been saying the same thing: until the Offensive Line improves, no QB will see success in the Navy & Orange. I was hoping the former Olineman turned GM would have fixed it.
How about stop having faith of the bears having a good qb
Love the the footage break down
on his second pick, I feel like its so easy to say he should have hit odunze underneath, but im sure he wasnt expecting the guy covering him to fall off. If he doesnt fall off thats a perfect pass right to kmet. Just a risky play by the corner that paid off
Kmet said he wasn't supposed to be blocking there, said he is going out on catching route
We got a tuff physical opponent up next. The colts offense is physically tuff
THE MOTHER FREAKING FTA
I watching the video. It's a great video.
I'll throw in the word Controversial for the algo.
Thanks for the breakdowns 👍🏽
Love these breakdowns man
Great analysis
Yes he played a great game
Houston D is seriously dirty. NFL needs to yank their chain. They’re just wearing out the refs and not stopping. Caleb getting closer. Keenan needs to get his butt out there.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gotta love Keenan. guy drops a td right in his hands and understands that he needs to fake an injury so that he doesnt continue sabotaging Chicago. such a selfless player
Houston d plays aggressively. Nothing about what they did was dirty
You sound so stupid 😂😂😂
@@danielbright2425 They were holding openly and not even hiding it. Exhausted the refs until they stopped calling it but yes.. they’re killer good. Gave up a lot of points to Indy though.
Thank you for the break down! I thought Caleb played a much better game than week one for sure. We know there's going to be growing pains, but the O-line can't be giving up 7 sacks a game. Caleb won't make it half the season
Great video Tim! I'm starting to worry about Caleb's ability to throw downfield though, which is crazy because his college tape didn't have these misses, so I don't get it, but he is a rookie.
I was super salty about that odunze end zone drop too. That need to be caught no excuse. Hurts even more to hear your loss on the parle from it ouch
Nice! Thanks!
Caleb got better. Question to ask is, did the center get better? Dan Marino would have had trouble playing behind that O-line
Great breakdown, Tim. Ugly performance by the Bears offense in what ultimately was a one score loss, on the road, to a playoff team. Bears have some opportunities in the coming weeks, so hopefully they start putting things together.
Whatever happened to sitting a rookie QB and letting him learn? Now they all have to play right away. Look at all these top picks, none of them look ready. You risk permanently scarring them if you keep sending them out there with crap o-line play and mediocre skill players.
Thank you for suffering with us every week
Good stuff!
Looked like Rome quit on he route on clip 15 - interception nullified due the defensive holding on Kmet.
The same way Justin was expected to play QB with an even worst Oline
If Rome catches that td and Keenan catches that TD last week it all looks soooo different 😢
Wrong question…he was running for his life
BearDown Tim great work
What i notice the check down was there thw whole game and that wouldve took them out of that crazy looking defense in the first play
Another way to beat the blitz is run the ball into it. If they break one, it’s over. Play under center and threaten with run and play action. Shotgun and pistol are good to run out of. Also, lack of easy throws. Kmet should be used as a security blanket. Everett should be that guy but he hasn’t been. Allen neither.
Drive 5 23 holding rome ive seen alot of no calls including rochon getting punched another no call
Tim…you missed a perfect opportunity to say “get his biscuits downfield” 😂
That last one to dj looks like caleb expected him to break earlier and DJ didnt. Ball was gone while he was still moving upfield before he turned.
That swing to Swift should have been a TD Nate Davis needs to be on the bench
O line is going to need their parents to sign the report card.
the amount of Bears bias is ridiculous.
being emotionally invested makes for better TV, keep it goin.... "the kids are gonna have to get jobs so dad can pay for the house." lol
Rough week, one can hope this Oline somehow figures it out 🐻⬇️
It’s like the guys who defended Justin Fields (besides DJ Moore) really suck this year. You would think they’d step up and not prove themselves as the common denominator.
All 5 offensive lineman should be humiliated
All 5 were.
the OL issues were a combination of the QB holding too long (for many reasons) , WR not getting open fast enough/running the right routes, poor chip blocks by RBs & TEs , sh*t ton of blitz etc. But its 2 weeks in, im not no where near panicking,. i honestly dont see us figuring something out until after the half way point. even then, it may not be until next year before things REALLY take off. The defense will have to continue to do what theyve been doing and play well for us to have a chance most nights. Also, I dont see the Bears extended Allen. theyd be a fool to do so. older and already showing injury issues, we need more depth at WR
How can ANYONE judge any improvements by the QB....when the OL is trying to get their guy killed. Everyone wanted to put 100% blame on Justin Fields....but now you have a guy with much better natural talent playing QB...and there is hardly any difference because Tom Brady wouldn't be successful behind this OL.
Yes. O line is $%#*. No. Justin Fields was garbage. No accuracy. Bad footwork. Struggled reading coverages.
Well, at least the all orange uniforms looked snazzy.
So basically . . . Williams is inexperienced . . . new OC with a rookie QB, a rookie WR3 and new RB1 . . . and fans are upset he's not Mahomes 2.0 . . . I think I'll have a little patience and see what happens down the road.
Rome Odunze killed their momentum when he dropped that easy TD in the 1st quarter. If you get your hands on the ball, catch the damn ball fool.
Danny is no coward Laura's style is just a bad match up
For the algorithm.
On another note the Texans are betting on Bears to throw the ball. Like Dave Winnsted said, they need to mix it up with running game so to throw the defense off.
Hard to run into a blitz. They needed to find some way of slowing that blitz down though and they simply didn't.
Talk me off the ledge, Tim.
at least they don't have to play the texans every week.
For the algorithm
