This is what I need! RC racing with an objective. I enjoy bashing my RC cars around the yard, but I'm good after about 15 minutes. With a drift car, and a few cones, you can easily make a few objectives and have something to practice with for a while.

I went with the redcat lightning. Adjustable suspension, bearings, and aluminum drive shaft. Got one in a trade for a dx3e. With a fd body too lol. Fun as hell on 2s with some drift wheels

@@10thScaleGarage Im doing the KaniZ drive shaft and cups delete mod with new bearings, so I'm waiting on those parts, foam tires for my top speed run, Max10 4000kv install, 20kg servo upgrade, wheel hub and swing shafts, 37T speed Pinion for speed and 32T for drift, and finally, the aluminum motor mount and metal wheel shafts that are on backorder... I think that about covers the upgrades for now, lol, and of course a 60-100c 3S Lipo for the cherry 🍒 on top. 🤣😂🤣😁👍🏼

I might dabble with doing this using my RC10GT. It already wants to go everywhere sideways anyway! I've got a high speed servo coming to steer it anyway and, once that's in, I reckon I oughtta at least be able to get drifting donuts out of it. At that point it's just up to my thumbs!
Got a video of it up too, if you wanna see how it's running. Right now it's got the original servos from 15+ years ago, they're slow, but that's gonna get fixed this upcoming weekend once UPS gets my parts to me.

@@10thScaleGarage would love to see a dedicated drift build done on a nitro chassis too. Just not enough nitro lovin' these days.
You might also get a kick out of my vintage Kyosho buggy runnin, though that's not getting drifted anytime soon.

Absolutely.
I noticed you said this fazer set up has no gyro. So if I built this same set up what would adding a gyro do for me as far as drift performance?
Not much in a 4WD drift car. It’s really only beneficial in a RWD drift car. It basically just counter-steers for you.

Do you think this will drift well without locking the diff? Out the box, it doesnt drift well. Also seems like the car doesnt respond to the throttle or break some times. Has anyone experienced this?
Hmmm. It definitely drifts better with a locked diff. What wheels /tires are you using?

@@10thScaleGarage ya, regretfully I haven't had as much time to keep up with UA-cam videos lately. Had I seen this when you published it, maybe I would have leaned towards the Kyosho. But, then again, parts availability and all... I'm happy with the choice I made, but really only time will tell.
