I escaped this prison a different way, involving a Grapple Hook, Sheet Rope, Baton, Sturdy Cutters, Cop/Gurad Outfit, and Fake Vent Cover. All this stored in the Sercet Area behind the player's Cell I also didn't need a plastic key, and believe me, it took FOREVER to get tools/escape :P But I made it out of there! :D
SHORTENED VERSION You will need: Bed dummy Bed sheet rope A tool that can cut through 2 slats and a vent Plastic red key (the fourth guard in the selection screen on all platforms has the red key) Guard outfit Two pieces of food, One or two fake vents Multitool 90 intelligent A bit in front of the roll call area, in the vents there should be a 3x3 area with a ladder. Cut till you get there At lights out place the bed dummy, then go to the ladder. Remember to put on the guard outfit While avoiding the spotlights, Go north and use the bed sheet rope to crawl down. Go west/left until you see a red door next to fences Go through it then start digging under the perimeter wall with the multitool. If you get very fatigued eat the food you have. Deposit any dirt outside Finally, escape!
I busted threw the wall in the cell to the secret room and dug a 15 space long hole to get out, I was only able to do it Bc I had the woodworking job to keep me supplied with the timber I needed to make posts
I escaped this prison day one easy... Once you get to 80 intellect and make your sturdy shovel you want to get your energy to max. Go to the front gate and wait until evening roll call finishes (you won't be able to go outside once evening roll call starts so you have to get out during work or free period) this will cause a lockdown but if you will be alright if you dig fast and close to the wall that is on the right (officers won't check there), then dig a hole under the fence and if you don't run into any boulders you have escaped. I know this works on the Xbox one and mobile, I'm not sure about PC. Edit: There is no multi tool on Xbox but even if there was it would take to much time to get the items to do it so if you run into a boulder you will have to re try

Actually, getting the metal shop job isn't necessary.You just need to get a good paying job to earn money to help you escape, and the metal shop job is the highest paying one
played escapists up to this prison, enjoyed it. got here and the fence at the bottom was bugged and wouldnt let me cut it (the electric fence, yes i turned off the generator, there was literally no option to cut it) every few weeks ill fire up this game again, only to realize ill have to go through about 5 minutes of boring monotonous tasks to be able to attempt another escape, killed my enthusiasm

Multitool does not work anymore. Looks like they have removed it from crafting. I have a sturdy Pickaxe and a Sturdy Shovel along with a Duck tape but nothing happens. Too bad.
@@cereustran not unless you're extremely lucky and it's still not worth it to go without it. chances are you'll run into rocks when digging and you need the pickaxe half to chip them. going without the pickaxe half will render you unable to destroy the rocks and you won't be able to escape.
I just go to the library get 80 intelligence and craft plated inmate outfit get something like a rake kill guard take baton and kill all the other ones until the main gates open and I escape
but it takes a long time to escape so of course it needs to be long. And he needs to tell you how to get ALL items because one item lost your escape is gone. If he didn't shoa how to get the bed dummy a lot of people would fail so yea this needs to be long

faster way: get a lot of duct tape/rope. attack 20% of guards and tie them to make a lockdown, do 60% more ad tie them up, make a break for it.
