I wish this was 20 mins longer. Taylors content is fantastic and im a huge fan of his style and video flow but I feel like we dont get a lot of time just "hangin out" with him like this. Still dope though, keep up the rad work aaron, come up to wisco for usair please 🙏 its such a good track.
Really love Taylors content, and honest approach to building cars and developing as a driver and fabricator. Something I think he really highlighted very well here, is this immature romanticism about V8 drift cars needing to be "N/A" and how Turbo LS's are "cheating." This belief that because someone took the extra step in fab and development as a "lazy way out" is a child's logic. Contrarians love to shit talk and pretend they're interesting and novel by purposely doing things to make their life more difficult, while complaining others have an advantage. The reality is, drifting is a 100% objectively judged sport, and unless you're in closely regulated spec'd series, the guy with more power/noise/presence has a massive advantage over you.
Turbo the planet. I turbo EVERYTHING, hell, I turboed a jet ski. Only reason is it sounds cool. There is NEVER a good reason to NOT turbo something if you can. It doesn't weigh that much in the end.
Drift car with adjustable suspension, grip, power seems like win win with turbo LS considering you have pump gas tune & E85 if turning power levels up. Great having options
I'm not because he's wrong, I'm mad because he's right! 😂😂😂 Honestly tho, unless you have unlimited engine budget (and you don't) this is like the most right way to do it, turbo V8 and turbo LS especially is the way. Like look, even Federico put a big single on his V12 Ferrari instead of twin superchargers. Although my dream drift build is C6 Z06 with C8 Z06 5.5 quad cam engine N/A with nitrous.
😅 people can build their cars how they want to, i mean theres people who built responsive NA or supercharged motors that is equal or superior to a turbo motor. It's the person's preference on how they want to make power or not. Don't listen to others, do you and enjoy the sport😎
I remember Taylor talking about this when he was planning the Vette. The belt becomes a problem. Loading and unloading as you run up and down the revs...
@@Forcefed2002 I’m not a Chevy guy.I was asking a question not making a statement I don’t know how the power bands compare to each other for drifting.I just noticed for drag racing the actual fast guys prefer sbc over LS Like most the big grudge guys that don’t Run big blocks typically run sbc on spray.
@@Forcefed2002 I’m not saying those setups aren’t high strung.Im just saying they must be choosing sbc over LS for a reason (probably because it’s better)
@@tri00azerathsadly, you're right. @wirekat yes, superchargers are cooler, and got instant response time. The more power you make, the more hellish it is to contain.
Yay I love T Ray x Lone Star content

that thumbnail 💀love it when you two do videos together!

Fontana Village is a super chill spot! We used to go twice a year to ride motorcycles.
Some good points from Taylor!
My grandpa used to say. Better to have to much and not need it than not have enough. I asked iof what? He said, just about everything.
Too*
Freaking love T-Ray!
Thermal management is always a good idea. Part of reducing pumping losses, is to lessen the need for cooling.
Out here building spaceships.

hell yeah Taylor Ray, love his content
Very interesting video cant wait for the next one!
Do it Aaron!! Awesome episode, really digging the background in this one.
Great video!! Lone star drift with Taylor Ray!! 🔥 Everyone needs a turbo ls
Hey Aaron, get Taylor back to HPA!!! I need to see him tandem in person

heres me with my m52 feeling on top of the world with my 190hp and 40psi in my tyres 😂
Maybe it should work like that maybe it should be line, angle, proximity, and underdogness.

It's not that you need it, but it is certainly better to have than not.
The thumbnail😂😂😂
I'm not sure I need 190hp, but I think I need 1900Hp for sure
Let’s do it
Some of the Best drift vids are convos 👍 23:18
Looking to turbo my v8 4.6 2v 98 mustang gt basic v8 drift build
Why not a supercharger though, doesn't the drivability become more difficult with turbos

He doesn’t need 1900hp he needs 4500 like a train 🚂 🛤️
The thumbnail seems like you might be throwing some shade🤔
🪬🤘🏽
Wouldn’t SBC NA be better than anything LS? na vs na I’d imagine sbc would be the move
Why? How? Cube for cube what in your opinion makes the sbc better? What makes the LS worse?

@patrickr8540 I see. The 2nd half of your original post confused me then.
@patrickr8540 name some of these big grudge guys spraying a sbc that's not "completely high strung"

Supercharger?
Cost is about the same, heat mgmt is more difficult, can't control boost as easily.
