The California State Polytechnic University -Pomona, fondly known as the CPP or Cal Poly, is a public polytechnic university located in Pomona, California that was founded in 1938. It is one of two polytechnics in the California State University system. It utilizes a quarter-based academic calendar and it offers bachelor's degrees in 94 majors, 39 master's degrees, 13 teaching credentials and a doctorate. The Cal Poly counts with eight colleges including College of Agriculture, College of Business Administration, College of Education and Integrative Studies, College of Engineering, College of Environmental Design, College of Hospitality Management, College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences and College of Science. The university is part of a small group of polytechnic universities in the country which tend to be primarily devoted to the instruction of technical arts and applied sciences. The most popular majors at Cal Poly Pomona include Business Administration and Management, Hospitality Administration/Management, Biology/Biological Sciences, Civil Engineering, General and Mechanical Engineering.
