TN Visa for Management Consultant | Malescu Law

Today we are going to speak about the TN visa for Management Consultant for citizens of Mexico and Canada. TN visa is only available to citizens of Mexico and Canada. It is based on a treaty the USMCA currently which replaces the NAFTA agreement. The requirements to apply for a TN visa for Management Consultant are:
1. You must be a citizen of Mexico or Canada.
Permanent residents of Mexico and Canada cannot apply for a TN visa for Management Consultant or any other TN visa. You must have a passport from Mexico or Canada in order to qualify.
2. You must have a job offer from a U.S. company to hire you as a Management Consultant. Self-employment does not qualify, so you cannot start a company in the United States and then seek to obtain a TN visa as a Management Consultant to work for your own company; that is not going to work.
3. The position in the United States must fall under one of the professions on the NAFTA list, currently the USMCA list, such as Management Consultant.
4. You must have the education or the experience required to qualify for the position as listed on the NAFTA list. For Management Consultant this means you either have a Bachelor's degree, in a field that is related to your project or your specialty area, or you have 5 years of professional experience as a Management Consultant, or 5 years of experience in a specialty area that is related to your consulting project.
