- NC State snapped an eight-game losing streak to Clemson with a 27-21 win over No. 9 Clemson in two overtimes. NC State quarterback Devin Leary found wide receiver Devin Carter in the back of the endzone on the first play of the second overtime to take the lead, and then the defense was able to get the stop to win the game. NC State dominated time of possession with 41:48 in the game compared to 18:12 for the Tigers. Leary threw for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns on 32-of-44 passing. Emeka Emezie set new career highs with 14 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown. For Clemson, wide receiver Justyn Ross caught eight passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns, plus he ran for another 63 yards.

I knew after watching them barely beat Georgia Tech that Clemson was not what they were last year, and that they were overrated. I knew they would loose a game that would show that, but I didn't think it would be this soon. Props to NC State for exposing them early.

@TheRapper10000Im a huge DJ fan since high school but i have to admit this year from last year is night and day. He looks like he needs to improve his game from his feet mechanics loose some weight. The offense was built for a more athletic quarterback. This year is not going to chance. I expect next year he will come back faster stronger agile explosive because he looks a step behind. Im praying for big DJ i know he can be a special quarterback.

Nc state kicker is 80.8% with multiple 50+ yards kicking. He has 2 years of eligibility left. He misses 2 50+ yarders and the hardest 38 yard kick you can possibly imagine being on ESPN with a chance to get a HUGE upset. I'm sure you would've pulled it off just fine though

If the RB doesnt' try to go inside 1st and just releases outside, he can set the backer up chasing him outside (the backer is put in a bind thinking it might be flat route) then cut back in( without letting him put hands all over him) He would be all alone in the middle and crossing DJ's face. Still a good throw and catch.

It takes a "TEAM" to win, not a player. If they were to replace the QB, would that change everything? No. When Lawrence went out last yr, they changed the QB to DJ, did a lot change? No.

After watching Bama and Georgia play. They have a lot in common. Bama has good TE in Latu and Billingsley. Georgia in Bowers and MacConkey. Bama has good RB's in Roydell Williams and Jase McClellan. Georgia in Zamir White, James Cook, Daijun Edwards and Kenny McIntosh. Both have playmakers at WR. Bama has Jameson Williams and Metchie. Georgia has Burton and Kearis Jackson while waiting on Pickens. ALL are gamebreakers. Clemson has none. They need to get out and recruit. This year is going to be tough, Next yr The underclassmen Clemson has right now will be much better. Work on winning the ACC and winning a bowl game. Natty or playoff are a pipe dream at this point.

He had a big gain coming if he just gets his knees up a little. Those are the kinds of plays that need to be made, not missed WR blocks and RB getting tripped up by a swiping defender. Which would make it better to cross and work the short side before you run into the gap and then try to turn and get back out. 13:50 is when he gets the ball, he should've started out crossing right away instead of running to the gap where the backers are run fitting. I guess, after he got his eyes up on the 2nd level he see's them and tries to change directions. Too late. Who's coaching him Stevie Wonder? Why did the left Guard try to block the nose instead of pass setting him? He had help from the Center and then he could've went up to the next level and put a hat on the backer instead he gets bumped off in front of the Right guard. Pause it at 13:51 or Center could've helped the Left Guard with a double team and the RT Guard could've gone up to the backer. Poor job all the way around

Who the hell teaches that in a scramble drill? He's not going to throw cross his body. That's how you get balls picked off or WR/DB's blown up. They should be flowing the same direction at different levels. Outside usually goes deep and the rest come across at different levels. 10 yds, 20 yds, 30 plus. As they're coming across. 1 can usually just sit it down. Watching this is killing me

Offensively they are terrible. Starts with the scheme and play calling. Then comes the O-line. Cant protect, when their opponents are rushing 3, sometimes 4? Cant run block either. They have to be better with such a young average RB. This isnt NC HS ball anymore. They need to get him into the pass game. Screens, Routes against backers, etc This is the only way to keep the backers honest. Right now, there's ZERO respect for the run. Draws, screens, even quick swings. If that's not his scheme, add some misdirection to keep them honest. A QB is about as good as his players around him. If Trevor Lawrence was still here, he would have the same problems. He cant run all the time, nor can he throw to himself. Just take a look how average he looks in the NFL with no run game and a bunch of average WR's. Looks like Clemson's O right now.
