Use Only THIS Much : To Make Techno

  • Today's aim is to use only this much to make techno work effectively!
    Most tracks nowadays are overproduced and that's not strange seeing as how agressive most soundbite and music platforms are. And while it may seem like the standard, trying to come up with something substantial is hard. Even harder if you're doing it away from the computer. Let's get into DAWless techno where only that much is needed! Enjoy.

    I stripped back and only use an MC-707 to make my Techno. It is enough for me. Good advice for me, don't add stuff too fast, I do this. Just let the sounds play out and let the folks "get it", let the sounds "sink in". 🙏😎

      I have heard that one only truly understands something when they can teach.
      The quality of this dude's music has jumped 10 fold in the past year and a half. I am glad I was here for this. Epic.
      This dude created a library of educational content that preserved an artform that was being undervalued and simultaneously then he became a way better musician as a result. Fire.
      That is great. That is what youtube is for sometimes and when at the best.

    Spectacular like always. Take your time, and you don't need too much. You know, I was just thinking about that. Also, I realized that I'm so into different genres of house, that I get confused and I start adding too much and or taken away too much so thank you for a great video once again, have a blessed day. I am not really a genre or music specialist in this kind of electronic music...but there really is a specific sound that I truly enjoy.
      Deadmau5 is one person who has hit the sound a few times on a few tracks (the most noteable being Strobe, which is one my favorite songs of all time, and Moar Ghosts n Stuff which just sounds great from a production standpoint.)
      There is just something about that frequency dense sound that is absurdly difficult to create. And more than every once in awhile AnalogKitchen is definitely finding that melodic techno perfection. And without a daw too. Fire.

      @@willievaughn6474 I noticed from your profile that you do some gospel influenced stuff. AnalogKitchen on this channel introduced me to a dj/composer named Robert Hood.
      Not only was he iconic in many ways regarding the detroit club scene and the origins of techno, yet he apparently leaned very heavily into a funk, r&b, melodic techno, detroit flavor and gospel sound that is honestly really chill. He has some great music tbh.
      He is another artist that is beyond worth checkin out.

    Great video and track again 🙌 Could i ask you, how you achieved (in other videos) to sync the MPC Live in midi clock slave mode to the multiclock? I’ve the same setup, but my Akai doesn’t work in slave mode in that configuration, only as a master 😊

    • @AnalogKitchen
      @AnalogKitchen  2 роки тому +2

      Hey man, I think you’re not telling the MPC to listen to sync. You can tell it to follow Ableton Link, ext Midi or something. The multiclock only sends out that start stop command

    • @tobiasolivermusic
      @tobiasolivermusic 2 роки тому

      @@AnalogKitchen Hey thank you for your fast reply 🙏 My problem is: When i send midi clock from multiclock to the MPC, the MPC doesn’t work without issues receiving midi clock at its midi input. But i thought, that u use this configuration in one of your videos, and it works, isn’t it? If yes, that was my question, how you fixed this midi clock slave mode at MPC, that it works fine with receiving clock from the multiclock 😊

      It’s connected to the 1010 BB which has a USB port. The other way would be a Kenton solution where you convert 5 pin midi to usb midi. I’ve done it b4 and it works. Look for a CALC tutorial on how he connects a LCXL to an Octatrack.

    this is still much that Moog is a really bad ass sick machine
    stood with a nord L4 and that may doubt I have chosen the nord very thick sound 4 layers. But I think I fell in love with that moog sub..
    I do have the bass station 2, but could you compare it with that sub or would it be like comparing apples with oranges????
    I can not describe in words how it sounds on my setup , but I now know that I have a 50 shades of pleasure room but not with toys from that fom but with very low frequency's .
    and I really had no idea until now..
    but what I actually wanted to ask ..... how do I get to that discord because I saw something about remixing your new ep which seems very nice to be able to participate in that and be allowed to participate ... I am a rookie on discord

      Did you move away from the large flight case design?
      I also connect several midi controllers to the Live and route to various tracks. Granted, I'd the MPC dies I will have some issues, just left w a Volca sample for drums and Bass+MS1 for bass and stuff. Small crappy Behringer mixer for dealing w such event lol.

      Yeah, the MPC is OG level.
      I know some people have used other novel hardware. A really great DJ named Pretty Lights used something called a Monome i think, in his live setups and production/composition daisy chains. I think he was a filthy casual DAW user though also lol.
      Fun fact: I am almost positive that all of his music is free in digital form still, and legally. Literally gigabytes of music for free.
      But yeah: MPC's are probably the og of og's in many ways regarding hardware, if the hardware suits your purpose.
