Read M.H Abhram literary Terms if you really wana clear the exam especially Literature. No definition based question comes in UP PGT English. Standard is almost NTA NET English for PGT. I have taken the Exam. I am PGT English in KV now.

@@sheetal6228 When it comes to TGT & PGT, I strongly recommend go through the syllabus and study every writer individually mentioned in the syllabus.
Follow these points.
1.Writer name & Bio details
2. His contemporary writers
3. His important works
3. Summary, main characters of famous works.
4. If given any award. For what.
5. Pen name / Title of the each work. Old title if any.. Source of his work.
That is all.. If you make your notes on this pattern, you will be able to answer all the questions. Avoid Old English. Start from Chaucer Era.

Why is English literature subject taught in Hindi? We are not learning spoken English. Such class as this is meant for advanced English students or literature students who should be very comfortable in reading, writting, speaking and listening in English. There will be lots of inaccuracies in the process of explanation when done in another language.

Both are correct. It is written in the book also. The rhyme scheme is either abcb or abab.
