The valve remains on the compressor and is not soldered off. The pipes are laid neatly and pipes that are too long are cut off. The capillary tube is laid to the side and the tube is straightened
It would make his work redundant because anyone with a bit of knowledge, a spare fridge compressor used as a vacuum pump, a charging hose with ends ISO 1/4" thread and a can of R600 could do a short refill for a fraction of the price.
Most household refrigerators in Europe operate on this "madness". The flammability of R600a is perhaps its only drawback, everything else is an advantage: it is extremely cheap and accessible (since it is a product of the gas-coal-oil industry), it has zero potential for destruction of the ozone layer, it is not alien to the planet's biosphere, unlike synthesized halogenated alkanes that in nature either decompose into very toxic compounds when heated, or, on the contrary, do not decompose for thousands of years, affecting the planet's climate. By the way, it is strange why the master cut off the Schrader valve? After all, its presence allows you to easily and quickly check the pressure in the refrigerator system, and a refrigerant leak with a high-quality and tightly screwed cap is extremely unlikely.
Thanks a lot but I beg to differ where you said there is a possibility of water in the system since there was a leak on the pipe in the drip tray. This may not be possible since the leak was on the high side the discharge side.
The master is right. When you run a refrigerator with a leak on high side,it creates a vacuum in the system. After switching off the refrigerator ,water from the tray is drawn inside the system to fill that vacuum. That water and moisture must be evacuated using a vacuum pump before charging the system first.
@@lloydpeniyasi4699 I'm a qualified refrigeration and air-conditioning engineer ,I know what I'm talking about. Self vacuuming is done at the end of the condenser next to the filter drier. Some attach a capillary tubing for that process . Just put that capillary to a bottle of water while vacuuming ,switch off the compressor and you shall see the capillary sucking that water. Just as the same action when taking your favourite drink of Coca-cola using a straw.
how about the dryer? removal and replacement of the dryer is important ! also nitrogen does not absorb moisture. Drawing a vacuum is important to remove the moisture as the liquid will evaporate, subsequent flushing with nitrogen is advicable.. Is this fridge even worth the effort?
I did the vaccum but couldn't film that. The dryer was fine, So No need of replacement, The goal of any nitrogen flushing system is to cleanse pipes and other parts that contain contaminants. And yes the effort was worth it. This refrigerator is still working fine. As it was fixed about 2 years ago.
I’ve seen this too - but they don’t put any valves on ours - they put nuts (like what you see here). A valve would be better - kind of like the quick release ones used in airbrushes - so that there’s no loss of refrigerant. Yet the people that did mine still screw the nut on and off as though nothing will get lost. SMDH.
I'm always afraid, when I want to weld. traumatized . A few years ago until it exploded during welding. Can you provide a safe tutorial for welding with Refriger R600.
Oh dear that's sad to hear, You should always use two or even three punching tool and check the leakage with foam before welding on r600a. As I told these are the safety measure one should take, To check the leak with a soapy foam. I always check the leak before welding on r600a. To be safe from such incident.
Hello! Can I still use this mini fridge? It had a refrigerant leak and it was filled with R134A but the compressor is for R600a. The R134a leaked out and the leak has been repaired. Can I refill with R600 and use it? The compressor still turns on but got heated with the R134a exposure. Thank you, Elsy
yes, you can use r600a or you can add small (few grams) of r290 to boost cooling. I have r600a fridge with freezer and i additive with r290, cooling is better.
Nitrogen is used as high pressure leakage detector as well as flushing the system. While vacuuming is used for evacuation of moisture and air in the system
I asked this question once I am doing step by step how you doing it and my work only last for three weeks the fridge work and stop freeze how come help me please
Compressor is giving me 3 to 460 psig and i am putting 0 to 3 psig of r600 Freon waiting for at least 20 to 30 minutes start the fridge condenser get warm start to give cool air work an freeze but stop ofter a week or two what is going on help me please
Excellent tip about the oil. I'm not an HVAC guy and wouldn't have known to look for that. Thanks.

Great Video. One question. Why did you remove the valve in the end? Isn't it ok to leave it there for a future service if needed?
It would make his work redundant because anyone with a bit of knowledge, a spare fridge compressor used as a vacuum pump, a charging hose with ends ISO 1/4" thread and a can of R600 could do a short refill for a fraction of the price.
Is there a specific piercing valve for R600a or can the R134 be used?
Hi is it possible to just use a piercing valve instead of cutting and brazing?
I have been in the industry for 59 years, and would never use flammable refrigerant...
It's insane!!!!

R-600a is also not a PFAS, Which is cool because it won’t give you cancer
the opposite is insane! Everyone uses butane for cooking but in the fridge it is now "dangerous" or what??

@@wawerukamau1260 have you ever performed a self vacuuming process before? If you understand that process you will understand this.

we leave the valves on all the units we fix. when we come back in 15 years. we can check it easy.

“We leave the valves on” 😂😂
The joke is on you. The Appliance will never last more than five years in normal operation. It’s by design from the engineers. 😑😑😑😑

Had a Samsung double door fridge a few days a go with leak inside the condenser. Unfortunatly not fixable.
What scale do you use? Any scale i have turns off automatically after a minute
I met a similar case lukewarm yours, leaking rusty pipe. I did the procedure like you did and the compressor failed. What could I have done wrong?
I didn't see you vacuum the system or change the drier since you expected water or moisture to have entered the system
I did it off the camera didn't show on the camera because I forgot to record that part in the video.
How much CFM vacuum pump need for small appliances
solid video!!!

Hi, pl let me know how can oil charge in same compressor with marked section line or other side ? how much ml oil ?
Check the compressors specification from google. The oil value will be mentioned there.
Is passing Nitrogen same as Vacuuming ?
Nitrogen is used as high pressure leakage detector as well as flushing the system.
While vacuuming is used for evacuation of moisture and air in the system
How much is the charge of all doing this?
A very helpful tip is to 50ml of purified water to the compressor before regassing. This helps lubricate the oil
Where can I purchase the instrument panel which was used to plug in the refrigerator?
So many details missing. for example how vacuum the system
Well I didn't show that in the video, but yes I did vaccumed the refrigerator.
Thank you Sir
Thanks a lot sir....
if you use R600A, then you don't have to vacuum the cooling system, right?
no we need to vacuum the system
Filter-dryer change!!?
The filter was fine, that's why I didn't Changed it
Thanks very useful 😊
Good
Thank you

hi, is R600a refrigerant is damage the evaporator coil ?
Можно было оставить клапан шредера! И все в порядке!!
Я не оставил клапан Шредера, потому что хотел, чтобы это выглядело так, как будто никто не работал над холодильником.

Method one for charging should not be followed. NEVER start your compressor in a vacuum! Always weigh in the charge
What can go wrong if I may ask?
Thanks alot sir
