I was enjoying this video just about to the end when I suddenly realized how much is missing here. It’s just a very plain recording of a practice of a relatively small marching band. No clever video editing. No body cams on the performers. No drone footage. No electrically amplified instruments. No massive banks of drum kits, marimbas, orchestral percussion and synths loaded with hundreds of programs and special sound effects. No theatrical props being dragged about the field. No long compositions in several movements written specifically for the event that depict epic events in ancient history and mythology. No synchronized juggling of rifle-shaped things. No acrobats in spangled swimsuits leaping about. No fireworks. No announcer with a thunderous voice to explain what’s going on and hype the selections. No dizzying pan shots of massive crowds… Since SO MUCH is missing here, what could be left to enjoy? Pretty sure everyone has the answer to this - the incredible Tachibana magic that belongs to KTSHS and no one else. (Just to be clear - I’m not putting down the video editing in this clip. It’s excellent.)
Could someone explain to me why the American navy Anchors Away was being played? I think on another video at the same field another group was playing the American Air Force song. Just curious no criticism. Go KTSHS
"Anchors Aweigh," not "Away." The composition is chosen for a few reasons. First, the song expresses the esprit de corps that marching bands embody and project. Second, marching bands often play military themes because marching bands originated from military roots. It is recognition for the fact that bands rallied the troops and marked the marching cadence on the battlefield. Third, Japan really loves "Anchors Aweigh," which isn't surprising because it is a very proud maritime nation. (Why do you think school uniforms are sailor suits?)
Wiki also points out that an arrangement of Anchors Aweigh by Paul Yoder is often played by bands of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, so it may be considered as practically a Japanese national tune.
@@gagatube KT SHS did not choose the piece. It's the piece that was played at the opening ceremony for this event, the Meridian Marching Festa 2022. They march out and stand alongside the other bands that will be participating.
@@bellesogne I did not imply that KT chose Anchors Aweigh - after all I can hear that they are not playing it, although I wouldn't mind if they did. I'm just pointing out that if a tune is frequently played by the JSDF, then it may well be regarded as suitable material for any Japanese marching band.
It caught my eye too, marching in a military style since they weren't carrying their instruments (except for the very front group of 8 or so). But as always, they did it with enthusiasm!

京都橘高校吹奏楽部の練習風景は他にもたくさんの動画がアップされてますが、どれもつい見入ってしまいます。加えてどれも再生回数がとんでもない回数です。 これ、高校のクラブ活動なんですよね。練習風景でこんなに人を感動させる部活なんて日本で、いや世界でここだけでしょうね。
過酷な練習に緻密な予行練習を熟して本番で楽しく笑顔で演奏するから観覧者が感動して笑顔になり気づけば虜になってるんやな😊 本番の動画もええけど滅多に見れない練習風景がグッとくるものが有り ありがたい動画ありがとうございます😊
京都橘高校吹奏楽部の部員の皆さんは、長い伝統と輝かしい栄冠からくる誇りを持っていて、その上に努力を惜しまない練習をしているからこそあの様な感動的な素晴らしい演技演奏が出来るのだと思います。

何度観ても橘高校吹奏楽部は凄いとしか思えない。
でももっと良いものにするのであれば横の列を綺麗に揃えると更に素晴らしいと思います。特に4:22で後から３番目と４番目が、う〜んと思ってしまいます。

@@39momo55 橘の内部を分かってないね。橘の練習風景とか何度もTVでやってるけど、出来の良し悪しは本人達が一番分かってる。
私が言いたいのは、悪い部分の指摘は生徒たち同士でやっているんだから、わざわざ周りの大人言うことでもないということ。
悪い部分を指摘するのは、橘のDMであったり、パートリーダーなどで、内部では厳しく指導してるんだから。
周りがいちいち口出しするのは、一般的に「余計なお世話」というんだよ。
そもそも、ただの高校生の部活にあれこれ文句言ってる大人って、傍から見れば「口うるさいジジイ、ババア」にしか見えないから。

スカートの下にジャージ穿いているのを見て、2000年代前半に女子高生が冬場にスカートの下にジャージ穿いているのを思い出した！「ダサいからやめなさい」と学校で禁止されました。
昔は埴輪と思ってたけど、今は慣れたのか普通に見られるようになった

楽器を持たずに入場シーンは動画で見た事なかったからなんかぎごちない様に見えただけですよ。否定的な意味ではありませんよ。逆に新鮮ですね。
