So true when I found a dermatologist because I had bald spots on my scalp and was diagnosed with alopecia areata he recommended lab testing and I was really low on vitamin D
I’m going through menopause. I do use minoxidil and other other scalp serums. What I learned and that works for me I use minoxidil once every other day. I did start out with once a day but now alternate with other serums on the off day. Researchers now found that 2x a day every day isn’t necessary for some people in regards to minoxidil. I know people tell you not to use minoxidil because if you stop that hair falls out. That may be true but I say why stop unless you have a reaction. I make it part of my nightly regimen and my hair filled out beautifully. Peace.
@@sw-hn4ok you rub it on your scalp. You can buy it at the drug store or grocery store probably. It was developed from a blood pressure medication which seemed to grow hair in men. So, if you have hypertension perhaps you could take minoxidil orally. Studies have shown that Rosemary essential oil has some of the same benefits so you may want to research that a little and consider something more natural.

I recently watched a dermatologist doing a q&a and she said that she had to commend whoever marketed biotin because additional supplements doesn't actually benefit the hair/body unless you have been tested as being biotin deficient. She also said that it can give false negatives and elevate your levels to a normal range on a particular test that doctors do to determine if you're having a heart attack. Any thoughts on this?
Yes it can give you have normal findings on your thyroid tests and on some heart tests so you simply just stop taking it for a few days prior to your Labs as she mentioned in the video. I've not known a doctor to test to see if I was deficient in biotin but a dermatologist told me to take biotin for hair loss that resulted from a burn, not a chemical burn but actually catching on fire.

Thank you for the great informative videos! Could you do a video on ways to prevent or protect your hair from the drying effects of sweat when working out? For those of us that can not wash our hair daily or every few days.
Noted! I'm adding that to my topic list, stay tuned! In the mean time, avoid harsh/tight styles near that area, use a liquid leave in spray to moisturize the area (Aphogee Leave In Conditioner), and seal with a little castor oil. :-)
Exercise can be good for your hair because it improves blood circulation and hair like everything else needs blood. The downside may be more frequent washings if your scalp gets wet but a gentle sulfate free shampoo and rich conditioner can combat this. I started at shoulder length at beginning of pandemic and started working out every day as I was WFH and now I am at mid-back length still WFH! The biggest difference was exercise and elevated my fatty acid intake with nuts and 5 to 6 servings daily of fruit and veggies.

I can! In short, shampoo bars are semi-waterless formulas that contain a high amount of surfactants that help give it that "bar" like structure. I can do a video on the difference between the bar vs the liquid!
When I first started growing my hair biotin worked great 👍 but after my pregnancy I tried to resume taking it and it made me hair feel weak . So I stopped and started taking a regular multivitamin.
The quality of biotin plays a huge role as well, some brands use low quality vitamins, but the brands I mentioned in this video are pretty amazing. Either way you definitely got to do what works best for you, I'm glad you found something that is more compatible with your hair. :-)
I use all these things already, still not any/ much growth. Coconut Oil (Unrefined), Flaxseed, Cod Liver Oil, Biotin (10,000 mcg),Nature's Truth Hair , Nail,Skin & Nature's Truth Biotin & Keratin.... My ends keep thinning...

@@CurlyChemistry I had to cut my long hair back in August of 2022 because it was stringy and not curling from end to end, so I have to use these on my hair to keep it growing.
I know this is primarily a hair channel. But related topic...I am trying to embrace my natural nails. They are usually thin and tear easily . But I have recently noticed that rubbing coconut oil daily makes a significant improvement to strength. Do you have any othet tips for growing strong, healthy nails?
Please talk about taking care of gray hair, I m noticing a few more gray hairs and one the things that stand out are the how course and dry gray hair is are there any recommendations for gray hair care!!
I purchased the Ritual vitamins after watching this video. Thank you. I am only on my first bottle. You are correct about the mint. There is a very strong mint smell when you open the cap and they also have a very strong mint taste, but not unpleasant at all. The capsules are small and easy to swallow. I'm looking forward to very positive hair growing! 🤗🤗🤗 BTW I just noticed some advertising about this vitamin and it was said that it's recommended for those between the ages of 18 thru 49. Why is that? Are they saying that if you're younger than 18 or older than 49 they won't be effective? 🤔🙄😯
Can you touch on locs? Like healthy scalp, getting rid of build up and avoiding buildup. I loc’d my hair a few years ago but I love your videos. You’re very informative and have a calming voice.
Hi ... I've followed you for years now and I love the way you put out your content in your videos... Thank you. However, I think it is also important to emphasize that people should do their own research and remember that their needs may be different depending on certain factors like their diet or general health or even if they may be on prescribed medication. Also, if not taking the vitamin brands in your recommendations and people decide to take them separately, some vitamins like vitamin A, (or other fat soluble vitamins), can cause hair loss as well as other side effects on the body and if taken in too large doses, they can be toxic. Your recommendations are great. They recognise the fact that most vitamins and minerals work in conjunction with each other in order to get the most out of them, like for example B vitamins, as sometimes taking them on their own can cause the depletion of other vitamins and minerals... A few years ago when the hype surrounding Biotin started, people were taking it in very large doses, and for many, this resulted in side effects such as, trouble sleeping, skin rashes, digestive upset and kidney problems because it caused a depletion in other B vitamins which were not being replaced. As I have said, I really love your videos, I think you are one of the best educators out there, and I'm sure you have mentioned similar cautions/disclaimers in previous videos, but I think with this one, a side note should be attached, especially for those who maybe new to your channel.
I just cut 12” off my hair again because I’m tired of tinting dark brown every 6 weeks. It’s now white & silvery grey. I need to know how I should care for it now. It grows really fast and is 3C-4A curly and is abt 2.5” now. Without color it’s healthy, not using heat, I read it makes greying hair yellow.
I need to get my Vit game up! .. I’m going to try these suggestions (was taking Biotin but slacked off🤦🏾♀️) .. I can’t remember if you’ve done a video regarding thinning edges as you get older and if there is a way to minimize shedding 💙
Thank you for sharing this information. I use all 3 vitamins regularly and I have no issues with my hair. The only problem is if you stop using these products, your hair will start breaking. So make the right decisions.
I love your videos and love that you relate to research and facts! One topic I think would be cool to discuss is reverse shampooing. Personally I sometimes dc before shampooing then condition. It’s a lot but it works for me. Do u have any thoughts on this?
What if you have peanut, treenut & fish allergies. Also hypothyroidism. When most products either have the products in it or manufacturer by these allergens.
Good morning, thank you for all of your awesome content. Could I take these recommendations all at once or. Looking into the rituals, or should I stick to the same brand rather?
Hmm I can see that, it may provide better absorption, but I can't take nasty liquids lol, and some liquid vitamins are full of sugar that it does more harm than good. :-/
Hi Tonya, I have a question what can you recommend for white/silver hair apart from the blue Or purple shampoo to take care your hair and wha shampoo to use to keep your white/silver hair healthy and shiny
I would recommend the other vitamins mentioned in this video silica, zinc, omega 3, etc. Taking a good Omega 3 will go a long way, if you want only omega 3 look into Nordic Naturals.
Please I am looking for chemist for my hair product formulation. Do you do consultations for that? Or do you have resources on how I can get one? Thanks very much!
Video topics suggestions for this year are needs for children's hair. Mostly teenagers. They still have virgin haircare experience but are becoming more independent (and I want a break) lol. Love your content and Thank You.
Hi. A video content recommendation addresses 'caring for multi-porosity' hair. Throughout my head I have high porosity and low porosity. Many areas have high porosity surrounded by low porosity hair. I can see the hair holding on to moisture and releasing a curl pattern tangled in the low porosity hairs. Thank you.
I'm hooked!! I just found your channel this past week and I've been binge watching your videos and lives and I'm loving all of the content!! I'm now starting a journey to taking better care of my hair and I can't wait to learn more from you and I can't wait to catch your next live!! 🤗😄😄 Thank you soooo much fur all your help!
Thank You so much for your info and all that you do. But im Natural and starting to go gray I'm not ready for that, any recommendations? Non Ammonia please.
I know henna is a natural option, but most people end up using color rinses. Unfortunately I do not have a recommendation for natural hair dyes outside of henna, however I would explore what other women are doing here on UA-cam. :-)
If a person starts taking vitamins, notice improvement with the hair, but stops taking them, will the hair fall out? If yes, is there a way to keep this from happening? In other words, is there a way to stabilize hair health?
I personally have not experienced that with any hair vitamin and I've been on this hair journey since 2008. Now I do believe everyone's body is unique and will have different responses to everything. The only hair growth aid I'm aware of that the hair can become dependent upon is Rogaine.
Hi Tonya! You are amazing! Thank you so much for your videos. My questions are, can you separate these vitamins into either ors because I think if you take too much of something it would not be good. Just need a little clarification.😊 And can you elaborate on the synergy of multivitamins . A long time ago I would take multivitamins and they would give me headaches. We respect your expertise!!! Thank you!
Can you talk about menopause and hair loss around the front edge of my head. It has just about all came out. I am stressing. I have neuropathy and I believe that medicine is is thinning my hair out.
I have a question, when is the best time to cut or trim your hair? I ask because I have been going thru hair loss in my crown area since 2020. It's now 2023 and the hair has grown, thickening on top but as a whole everything is uneven. When should I even this up?

Try inositol! That really grew my hair out. It’s very thick and healthy my dear. You will not regret it. I would love for you to try it and get back with me in a month to let me know the results.😉
Can l ask is there a difference between cod liver tabs and the omega 3 on a scientific perspective and can you take both or is omega better?? Thanks in advance 🙏💕
These vitamins I take just about every day.
Go girl! :-)
That's a great tip! A good hair vitamin like the ones mentioned in the video will help as well, also increasing your water intake.
Lime works really well on my nails. Maybe try that! Just cut a lime and rub the juice over your nails once a day. Works!
Right on time ❤
Yayy! 😀
Please talk about taking care of gray hair, I m noticing a few more gray hairs and one the things that stand out are the how course and dry gray hair is are there any recommendations for gray hair care!!
Hello, do you recommend taking all those vitamins together or just one of those that you mentioned in the video?
That’s what I was asking
My dermatologist recommended nutrafol what do you think about that!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Blessings. Tried using the coupon coming up not valid.
Thank you. I will try these tips.
Can you touch on locs? Like healthy scalp, getting rid of build up and avoiding buildup. I loc’d my hair a few years ago but I love your videos. You’re very informative and have a calming voice.
Hello. What about people that can’t take biotin. Is there alternatives? I can’t take nothing with biotin.
Thanks for the reminder . I will get a blood test first to make sure I’m taking what I actually need.
Thank you...👌🏾facts! well noted❤️❤️
I'm going to do a video soon on grey hair, in the mean time keep up with your moisture, stay hydrated, and deep condition weekly if you can.
What about hidrolized collagen? Does it really work to help the hau grow?
I know it's not a vitamin, to my understanding, but it works? 🤔
I need to get my Vit game up! .. I’m going to try these suggestions (was taking Biotin but slacked off🤦🏾♀️) .. I can’t remember if you’ve done a video regarding thinning edges as you get older and if there is a way to minimize shedding 💙
Thank you for sharing your topics!! I do love green tea rinses to minimize shedding. :-)
Because of you I will be trying to red ginseng. I heard Walmart has it in the drink pouches. Do you take red ginseng orally?
Happy New Year! Thank you for information, blessings to you.
Thank you for sharing this information. I use all 3 vitamins regularly and I have no issues with my hair. The only problem is if you stop using these products, your hair will start breaking. So make the right decisions.
Is there a way for this not to happen? In other words, does the hair ever become stable?
Really? I've never experienced that before.
Perhaps because your diet may deficient in many of the vitamins & minerals that are in the supplements
Love your videos !!! Can we know how you styled your hair in this video- is it a braid out??
Thanks for sharing, this information was greatly needed.
Good morning, thank you for all of your awesome content. Could I take these recommendations all at once or. Looking into the rituals, or should I stick to the same brand rather?
I have enjoyed this video. And yes I would like to hear more about vitamins that work. Also I hear that liquid vitamins work better
Hmm I can see that, it may provide better absorption, but I can't take nasty liquids lol, and some liquid vitamins are full of sugar that it does more harm than good. :-/
Thank you for sharing. I have been taking Ritual for about two years. I love them. Great Information.
Hi Tonya, I have a question what can you recommend for white/silver hair apart from the blue Or purple shampoo to take care your hair and wha shampoo to use to keep your white/silver hair healthy and shiny
Pls how do we use this supplement ma.
Thank you
So I usually break out when I take vitamins that focus on my hair, skin, & nails. The biotin is very strong for me so what do you suggest?
I would recommend the other vitamins mentioned in this video silica, zinc, omega 3, etc. Taking a good Omega 3 will go a long way, if you want only omega 3 look into Nordic Naturals.
@@CurlyChemistry Thanks for your suggestions.
Please I am looking for chemist for my hair product formulation. Do you do consultations for that? Or do you have resources on how I can get one? Thanks very much!
You are awesome. Thank you for ALWAYS bringing what we need. I'm very grateful to you ❤.
Video topics suggestions for this year are needs for children's hair. Mostly teenagers. They still have virgin haircare experience but are becoming more independent (and I want a break) lol. Love your content and Thank You.
Do you mind sharing your thoughts on Nutrafol vitamins?
That's part 2!! :-) Stay tuned!
Hi Sis then why are all these people say stay away from Biotin I am so confused 😢
When is the best time to take vitamins?
Hey love! Amazing content as usual😍Would love to hear your thoughts on moringa and how to use it based on hair posority ❤️❤️
Would love to hear about what is good for kids, hair and scalp
Thank You so much for your info and all that you do. But im Natural and starting to go gray I'm not ready for that, any recommendations? Non Ammonia please.
I know henna is a natural option, but most people end up using color rinses. Unfortunately I do not have a recommendation for natural hair dyes outside of henna, however I would explore what other women are doing here on UA-cam. :-)
So can i take all 3 supplements?
Could you look into Alodia hair care and give us your opinion
Just need a little clarification.😊
And can you elaborate on the synergy of multivitamins .
💜Will it be safe to consume all 3?
Hey! I would choose 1, you don't want to overdue it with the biotin :-)
@@CurlyChemistry Thank you so much😁💜
Where do you find vitamin A?
I have a question, when is the best time to cut or trim your hair? I ask because I have been going thru hair loss in my crown area since 2020. It's now 2023 and the hair has grown, thickening on top but as a whole everything is uneven. When should I even this up?
Its been 3 years😮
Thank you so much.
what about for alopecia
