Thanks for the SP&S footage, some that I haven't seen before. The SP&S crossed our long driveway when I was a kid, my brothers and I learned all of the other carrier's names out there by watching those trains pass by. Fond memories.
1:14 BN 6244 (Formerly Burlington Route 504) is now preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union now restored to its CB&Q guise with Chinese Red. Cool fact: this engine starred in the 1993 movie Groundhog Day starting Bill Murray.

Hello, Charles! Excellent videos and descriptions/narrations! Do you reside in the SanFran Bay Area? I grew up in Lafayette about 100 yards from the SacNorthern and your presentations bring back memories from the early 1950s while the GE/Baldwins were still plying the rails, it's Oakland Yard was still active and Fenton's and Mr. Edy's were the places to go for hot fudge sundaes!
The Colorado and Southern Railway and the Fort Worth and Denver Railway Company were part of that merger. The CS was wholly owned by CBQ which controlled the FW&D.
