He is a wonderful lyricist with bars and double/triple entendres even in their ballad songs. These guys are true musicians. They understand music better than most popular groups out there. You can tell that they are truly connected to the words they are singing and they love what they are doing. Do check out their dance practice for Bazinga and Moonlight. I get what you mean that it's easy to recognize who is who in the group. They have distinct personalities and voices and each one leaves a mark. Even if they sing as a group they still shine individually and when singing together, they sound as one. It's like a puzzle, each one has their own role and placement. Individually they have its own shape and pattern but when you put them together and fall into place, they bring out this beautiful masterpiece.
MANA is the most underrated song by SB19. I wish there's an English translation coz the lyrics is really good. Pablo is really very good in using figures of speech and in playing with words in his compositions. MANA means heritage while MANANANGGAL is a scary mythical creature in the Philippines which can divide its body into two. Leaving the lower part, waist-down, on the geound while the other half flies somewhere to get food (humans/babies) The title represents both. Anyway, Pablo metaphorically used that coz as they soar high to success, their feet are still on the ground. (True enough, this group is very humble) and definitely, they have a lot of bashers too and treat them like this mythical creature but they couldn't see that this group's goal is to leave a lasting heritage (MANA) to put PPop on the map of international music industry.

These guys are truly special - trailblazers, undaunted. They break the norm and set new standards. They are highly-prized in our country's music industry. They write their own songs, produce them, produce and conceptualize their own MVs, choreograph a lot of their dances (currently, they already have their resident choreographer, the group has a lot on their plate already), and market their own selves. Mana can mean inheritance/legacy, and in this song, a play on "manananggal", a mythical vampiric creature of the night. It is human during the day, and at night splits its body into half--the lower body stays on the ground while the upper body grows wings and hunts humans, especially the sleeping. In the song, it is used to symbolise their promise to keep themselves grounded even when they soar high. They chose a feared monster to represent them, as a sarcastic metaphor to how much they used to be hated on perhaps because they were shaking up the status quo (hence the line "Are we monsters to be feared?"). The symbolism also helps them drive home the message in the final line of the song "Don't sleep on us, or else." Pablo wrote this song when a lot of hate was still coming their way, and these lyrics show that they knew that their hard work and talent were being undermined by the hatred and various stereotypes they were being put in, hence that message. The wordplay into "mana" (inheritance/legacy), lets them easily slide in the message "You don't see it now, but one day, you will understand our legacy." It's not bravado, and they do promise to always keep themselves grounded, but it shows through this song, that they know what they bring to the Philippine music industry in which, for a time, they were outsiders. It's a very beautiful song because of its meaning esp in the context of their journey, and also because it is one of those songs that is so successful in highlighting each member's contribution to the group dynamics. Easily one of my favourites from them, and the Wish Bus performance is what got me addicted to SB19. I wrote a translation of its lyrics, below. The band consists of Pablo (the leader, chief songwriter, main rapper, lead vocalist and a producer), Josh (eldest, lead rapper, sub-vocalist), Stell (main vocalist, lead dancer, he has the highest range/pitch among them), Ken (lead vocalist, main dancer, has the lowest range among them and his bass is so good) and Justin (sub-vocalist, youngest, creative director of their music videos). I get what you mean that it's easy to recognize who is who in the group. They have distinct personalities and voices and each one leaves a mark. (True enough, this group is very humble) and definitely, they have a lot of bashers too and treat them like this mythical creature but they couldn't see that this group's goal is to leave a lasting heritage (MANA) to put PPop on the map of international music industry.

Mana can mean inheritance/legacy, and in this song, a play on "manananggal", a mythical vampiric creature of the night. It is human during the day, and at night splits its body into half--the lower body stays on the ground while the upper body grows wings and hunts humans, especially the sleeping. In the song, it is used to symbolise their promise to keep themselves grounded even when they soar high. They chose a feared monster to represent them, as a sarcastic metaphor to how much they used to be hated on perhaps because they were shaking up the status quo (hence the line "Are we monsters to be feared?"). The symbolism also helps them drive home the message in the final line of the song "Don't sleep on us, or else." Pablo wrote this song when a lot of hate was still coming their way, and these lyrics show that they knew that their hard work and talent were being undermined by the hatred and various stereotypes they were being put in, hence that message. The wordplay into "mana" (inheritance/legacy), lets them easily slide in the message "You don't see it now, but one day, you will understand our legacy." It's not bravado, and they do promise to always keep themselves grounded, but it shows through this song, that they know what they bring to the Philippine music industry in which, for a time, they were outsiders. It's a very beautiful song because of its meaning esp in the context of their journey, and also because it is one of those songs that is so successful in highlighting each member's contribution to the group dynamics. Easily one of my favourites from them, and the Wish Bus performance is what got me addicted to SB19.

Just a short info. to know more about them SB19 is a multi-awarded Filipino boy band formed in 2018. The band consists of Pablo (the leader, chief songwriter, main rapper, lead vocalist and a producer), Josh (eldest, lead rapper, sub-vocalist), Stell (main vocalist, lead dancer, he has the highest range/pitch among them), Ken (lead vocalist, main dancer, has the lowest range among them and his bass is so good) and Justin (sub-vocalist, youngest, creative director of their music videos). SB19 is regarded as a leading act in contemporary Pinoy pop and they're also known as the P-Pop Kings because of their live monster/powerful vocals and for being the trailblazers for P-pop to be known in the iternational scene.
