Hey guys, I love your show, I find your reviews well done and very pertinent. I noticed that you rarely mention when a car, i.e. the vw id4, offers a different back seat split option. A lot of brands keep building with that 40/60 split but I personally, along with many friends, love cars that offer something like a 40/20/40 split (it is actually a deal breaker for some) as it offers more functionality, like a family of 4 going skiing without having to deal with roof racks. I believe if more car analysts were to mention it as a nice option, it might entice some car manufacturers to offer it in the future. Thanks for the show !

Sure you get a lot for your money with Hyundai... but it's just gilded "Luxury"... meaning if you look below the skin of everything it is made extremely cheaply. None of the Hyundai vehicles I have owned held up all that well. Carpets wore out way too quickly, leather surfaces showed signs of aging in the first 2 years, paint was extremely brittle (tons of chips all over the car in less then two years)... Basically everything about the Hyundai vehicles looked nice at first, but once you actually use the vehicle everything wears out very fast. Plus Hyundai are just not very "fun" to drive... too boring. I have owned Ford's, Chevy, Toyota, Subaru, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Porsche brand vehicles... so I am fairly familiar with vehicle brands, and how they drive... A very intriguing and beautiful car. I always wonder about fixed pano sun roofs. What’s the appeal if it won’t open? Just getting natural light in the cabin?
Very impressive electric SUV 👏
Review was great. Thorough. Fair. I’m a massive Tesla fan but super excited for this. I believe cars like this are apart of the overall Tesla vision. We reserved ours for my wife.
Teslas have no Matrix LEDs, no coloured ambient lighting, no HUD, Model 3 and Y no drivers display. Very poor.
Right. Exactly what I love about Tesla. Minimalist. Changing the way vehicles are created. Vision. Also incredibly fast. Everything in them is of the utmost quality. None of that other stuff matters. Also without Tesla there’s no ID.4.

This is the first EV I’m willing to purchase after college. Wow, has VW stepped up their game.
This car looks really good

Best comment🙌
hahah
I dont get it. Could someone explain?
They will definitely get my money for this excellent vehicle. I've been waiting for this. Great job!
Does this compete with the Nissan Ariya, or more of a Rogue competitor? The Ariya starts around 39K.
Nissan is failing
Peter Tingley Nope. Your wrong in my opinion.
The Arya is smaller than the Rogue
It will definitely compete with the Ariya.
Ariya is still a year away in the US if I understand correctly. I’d gladly consider the Ariya, but I have a lease on a Leaf that ends in March and Nissan will lose me as a customer to the ID.4 - I reserved the first edition.
This bypasses VW's biggest Achilles heel, the engine! I've had 3 VW's. Always a sucker for how they drove.
Love your content Redline Reviews, you inspired me to start my own youtube channel.
Thank you for motivation.
I love this blue color!
Tesla model 3 /model Y are not Luxury brands ..they priced like one but not built like one
Say it again Brotha! Or Ma'am
Fantastic job VW and Redline.....Well done and it will sell!
It looks fantastic. Looking forward to hearing how it drives, and if 6 foot plus folks fit ok in it.
It has the interior room of a Passat. That was the design brief.
I've been watching several reviews, and one driver said he was 6'1" and still had plenty of headroom in both the driver's seat and (surprisingly) in the rear seat, even with the roof screen in place.
dude F%&$ yeah! congrats Sofyan Bey for getting that exclusive/show room review ! Been a long time viewer and stoked to see yah always crushing it! can't wait to see what the next step is for you and redline. : ) subscriber for life !
Not a fan of VW, but I love this!!
We own 2 EVs right now we charge from solar panels on our home. One is an eGolf. We cant wait to get into the ID4!
"It'll work great, don't worry!" famous last words lol.
It would have been funny if the car said. "That's too bad" when you said, "I'm cold" 😂
“Is thick, and feels good in your hands” noice
Lol 🤣🤦🏽♂️
This might be my first EV
This is a brilliant first EV it’s luxurious easy to use and fun to drive
Beautiful suv! Good job vw
Great to see you back at live press events.
E car companies: please give us knobs for the climate controls!
voice commands. How is your nokia 3310?
@@saliman4874 People want things that work.
If the execution isn't there (to which automakers' voice commands are virtually all awful), then the idea shouldn't go on the market. Automakers should stop beta-testing their half assed infotainment systems on consumers. I want to stop hearing automakers give excuses about how their voice commands will get better and eventually, cars will drive themselves anyway; meanwhile, their current infotainment system can't even manage a consistent framerate. I appreciate automakers' conceptual ambition, but they shouldn't forget about quality.
@@MRTOWELRACK seems like you haven't seen hardware 3 in tesla
I really don't understand why ppl blame about it. I basically drive 24/7 climate on same position from -20c to +30c? If you need to change it, its just a small wiping motion. Not so big of the deal.
@@tommihuhtinen8975 if it's on a screen, it takes more concentration to find the fan and or temperature, and I'm sure you have to take your eyes off the road for even a small second. My wife's CRV has the controls on a screen, I way prefer my knobs on my civic. Nice chunky knobs that require a miniscule amount of concentration.
Thanks for the review. You didn’t comment on the seats. They look flat. Are they comfortable?
Finally! An EV that doesnt seem interesting or cool in any way!
I'm proud of you Sofyan. We're gonna get you to a million I promise.
I love how Tesla is considered a luxury brand. Are we just going to ignore their terrible quality control?
Yep
Are we going to ignore the mechanical frailty and poor quality of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and VW/Audi instead???
@@MyerShift7 The truth my BMWs prior to 2005 are all reliable but you could not give me a new one. My experience with Volkswagen was worse, Golf Fahrenheit special edition burned oil and had electrical system issues off the lot.
Same way you ignore ID3/4's software issues and VW lying about emissions.
Ive had my GTI for 2 years now, 0 issues. Sure there were emissions issues, but hey, now I get 6 years, 72,000 miles complete warranty coverage on my VW. I can deal with that over some false data from emissions which is very little impact. I used to go for the BIG 3, but their quality is all crap. Last GM product I had was a lemon. So yeah, I’ll trust German over any of the big 3.
Sunroof with an actual solid sliding sunshade is an absolute blessing, a panoramic sunroof is amazing but in wither the car freezes 🥶, the sunshade does make a big difference, more so when your relying on the battery 🔋 to provide the in car 🚙 heating 🥵 or cooling 😎....... 😁👍
This looks amazing
I have a question: can you charge it with the Tesla supercharger? Or will there be a VW supercharger all across Canada like Tesla?
this looks like an off scale hatch back to me.
For 40.000€+ in the level entry edition , it's not for the masses
This is Great
Do,you know what the front legroom and headroom is?
We also want the ID3
The ID3 isn't coming
@@TellurideS13 Which is painfully sad.
If VW could bring over the ID3 for under 30k they'd have a winner.
@@robburcham6289 It's not because they can't, it's because they won't. North Americans don't buy small cars like Asians and Europeans do. Also VW can make more off SUVs than small cars.
@@Demobot1 I think we would buy the ID3 for under 30K. We won't for 40k or even 35k but under 30k, yeah. It's a different demographic than the Ford Explorer people but the smaller demographic does exist.
Here in the US, a lot of us want the ID.3! The ID.4 is the next best thing, but I really hope they also sell the ID.3 here in the US.
Can't wait to see this against the Nissan Ariya ❤
I think the Nissan ariya And thisWill take Tesla down
@@hiiiofficial8306 i think the Japanese are starting to wake up again
I can’t wait for the Ariya either. Seriously. It’s a year away and I need a car in March 2021.
This is a very good looking car. VW now has my attention for the future ID models.
Now all we need is an electric golf gti or golf r ❤
I'm a sucker for ambient lighting 🤤
1:39 that’s painful to hear
How does it find a charge station, the charging cost & know that its working and available?
Oh look! How quaint! Unlike Telsa, VW isn't beta testing a car on the public.
Nope, that's because they're satisfied with the piss-poor quality and durability their cars already possess!
@@MyerShift7 You might want to reference the latest JD power list. It's got Tesla last by a wide margin.
MyerShift you must beA Tesla fan Volkswagen is 10 times more solid than a Tesla and more premium and more practical and cheaper and it’s not going to get stolen and this more simplistic and it’s got as much technology
Really well presented. I appreciate the care you took over this review. A professional job.
Reminds me of Audi e-tron!
I just bought the ID3 on a 2 year leas plan, im so happy with it but at the same time looking forward to trade it in for the ID4 in 2 years from now.
Yeah, VW will have a hit with this vehicle. I’m sure of it.
It’s a lot more solid than teslas and cheaper and more technology and it’s not going to get stolen
@@hiiiofficial8306 how do Tesla's get stolen. Not a cultist, just asking?
@@hiiiofficial8306 I thought teslas had passwords. Their software is one to be reckoned with. Its at par with NASA's tech and research.
That is a glorified station wagon. The "suv" and "crossover" monikers are being way overused by automotive manufacturers AND automotive journists alike. Let's get real.
And for the money VW is planning on market this one for, I'd rather invest on the reliability and better warranty of a KIA Niro EV/Soul EV or a Hyundai Kona EV.
H. J. Babilonia This vehicle is larger in every dimension than all the options you proposed. That’s likely why it has a higher price, as well as having faster charging rates.
Go ahead, buy what you want, report back on your satisfaction, on Kia or Hyuandai videos or blogs....
I have owned 4 different models from Hyundai... Owned 6 different VWs... Each of the VWs were leaps and bounds better vehicle then any of the Hyundai vehicles.
As well as I have been a vehicle Technician for majority of my life.
Well thing is... lot of families need a station wagon. Soooo it will sell well.
Besides if you think about it, all SUV type vehicles are just glorified station wagons... be it on taller suspension of course.
Also, wow, had no idea your subscriber level was so high these days. I've bee watching you for at least 5 years, cool to see!
I wish people in America would stop wanting suvs
Does it come in a TDI?
Lowkey looks like an older RAV-4
Now that you mention it, I can't un-see it
Anyone else think the gauge is a bit too small? I dunno, just something about it being way too small
Tesla’s are not a luxury vehicles. The automotive press has been conned.
they may be classified as such because of their higher price. They are not sport vehicles despite their sports car acceleration figures either. They are electric vehicles, with only almost decent build quality, that are priced somewhat high.
Model Y poo all over ID4, longer range, why better performance and software destroy that DOS looking VW platform.
I would easily have this over a Tesla it’s different Its More luxurious and more reliable
Lee Bruce You must be a Tesla fan I would easily have this over a Tesla cheaper more luxurious and more practical
@@hiiiofficial8306 More luxurious and reliable? Man what are you smoking.

You’re gonna tell me that VW has better interior quality?
@@yes8032 Did I sat that? hmmm
@@yes8032 sadly not these days. During the 1980s even their entry level Golf models had nice tweed interiors and quality fittings. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s many of their interiors were atop the mainstream range and were considered by many only to be bettered by the likes of Audi who was then considered to be setting the standard for materials. This is an improvement over the step up from public transport that they offered as interior trim in recent years but the same has occurred in many mainstream brands.
Bruce Solomon I see
Can it tow? What is the weight limits on towing?(kg & lb)
This look’’s ok.
I wonder why there's no frunk. There definitely should be room for one given the size of the vehicle, even with the front motor.
That white steering wheel is gonna be dirty and gross looking as F in a year

This car will sell well until the $25K Tesla will show up.
A $25K Tesla, will that price to consumers with upgrades at $35 to $40K plus??? Just thinking about history as a guideline...
Volkswagen designs are starting to become very good looking
Not going to lie. The exterior looks nice, but interior looks very bland and kinda ugly
Welcome to the age of simplicity.
The interior styling looks like it was designed for teenager Barbie.
This car looks better than anything from Tesla in terms of design
