Thank you for the excellent video Mike. Am I correct; the adze with the dark handle is made by Jason Lonon?

I have the Jason Lonon adze and I believe you are correct. It's a well made tool.

I’m having issues with my wood splitting after I do the carving and sanding I notice cracks in it the next few days. Is the room to dry?

from what i know after you get to the desired shape you put it in a shaded and ventilated room or place
if you put it in the sun in the drying process it will crack, im assuming a very dry room would do the same

I keep my wet bowl carvings in a plastic tote filled with the shaving I have taken off the pieces I am working on. That slows the drying process so there is a more even dry. It is uneven drying that causes tension in the wood that causes splitting. Since spoons are so small under most conditions they don't seem to crack.

There seem to be 2 kinds of folks in the world. Those who need the structure of a classroom to learn and those who learn best with books, videos and by pissing on the electric fence themselves. I fall into the later category.
