Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. Since they got away, there is little evidence for the police to actually charge them DUI. They can claim being terrified as a result of the accident and were weak on their knees or even wetted their pants.

This is why we keep having DUIs. The fines are just too little. In China, they revoke your license on 1st offense. No one with a job will dare to drink and drive.
When I was growing up, everything I heard about DUI was how much it would ruin my life. Ignoring the obvious danger to life and property, just being cited for DUI would result in thousands of dollars in fines, car towed and impounded, loss of drivers license (which would have cost me any job I've ever held), court dates, attorney fees, etc. Of course, I was always told how bad it would be to cause an accident without insurance but this channel has proven that isn't unusual or even much of a problem.

That and once they are deported they come back with a different different name.
It's probably not the size of the fine but that it is not enforced consistently, like deportation.
Same here in Australia, 6 months loss of license if your caught driving intoxicated. We actually have pretty regular random breath test checkpoints setup on main roads on Friday/Saturday nights so most people that get caught for drink driving get caught before they harm anyone or crash into anything.
My Son in Law was killed by a drunk driver, and my daughter seriously injured. They only been married for 6 months!

its beyond aggravating that they only get off with a $700 citation when they obviously caused so much damage and were driving under the influence. they need some serious jail time. glad no one was harmed.
They don't have to pay it. You have to have a valid license to enforce it. He will just steal another person's ID again and continue.

Sad part is this only encourages drunks to flee accidents because you can't charge them with dwi after the fact. Somehow this isn't enough evidence to prove that. And the fact that they caught him and he didn't get a fleeing the scene charge dosen't make sense to me at all.

They weren't caught. It looks like they may have been illegals driving their boss' truck. So, he wouldn't have their personal info if they are paid off the books. They'll just go to the next job. If he was smart, he could've said the truck was stolen and didn't know it until the cops called him.

@@HiThisIsMineyou can't use "obvious" cues to prove intoxication. You have to have a way to measure and document. You can legally drink and drive. You just have to be under a certain limit. How can you document the limit without a test?

Clearly since you are so amazing as to judge me as to not being a lawyer or a lawmaker simply from observation of my comment (yet I can’t judge someone as being intoxicated from observation)… you know that “intoxication” is a condition of impairment… not the legal limit of impairment.
I also assume you know that a police officer can make a judgement call as to whether or not someone is intoxicated, by simply observation, since they don’t actually need you to consent to a sobriety test in order to arrest you for it.
You must also know from your expertise, that a breath test is not required for the same officer to take away your license for a year if you refuse to consent to the test. It’s written into the law in most states that the police and courts have this power.
But what do I know… I’m not a lawyer or lawmaker 👍🏽

Bars need to call the cops whenever someone hammered gets into a car and drives. That’s so sad, they could barely walk straight. Someone could’ve gotten killed.
That video footage would be sufficient to support a charge of impaired driving. It doesn't matter how much of what substance may or may not be in your bloodstream; if you can't walk straight without falling over, you're too impaired to drive.

They were really deeply drunk. I thought that guy was talking on the phone but on close inspection it was just the app drawer/menu screen. I saw one vehicle with flashing light pass by that looks like an emergency vehicle, but it didnt stop. Nobody at the traffic light bothered to call the cops for the whole duration they were waiting at the light either.
