thank you
ENJOY!!!
Holy cow, i didn't think the oil cooler would've held that much! Wow, it's extremely important to prime it!
yeah i was surprised too, considering on the dipstick between max and min is one litre, if not primed you could be running under minimum oil level
very good very nice
thank you 😊
Just put this setup on my car. I ended up double stacking two sandwich plates (one thermostatic, one regular) for additional sensors. Nice job on the install!
I had a slight weep of oil from where the braided lines join up to the sandwich plate. I put a bit of permetex thread sealant on and that sorted it out .I'd be interested to see if you had the same problem when it's filled and running.
awesome, what additional sensors are you running?
hopefully we shall see very soon if it leaks
Oil temp and oil pressure. My oil temp sensor is a 3/8 fitting, hence the double stacked plates. I thought a 1/8 -> 3/8 adapter is another point of failure.
I did a track day at Bedford this week. The oil cooler does a bloody good job, I didn't see oil temps above 95°C!
great video! My kit arrived just a few days ago. What type/kind of oil temp sensor are you using?
I primed and drained the oil cooler to make sure there was no debris inside prior to fitting the lines just the way I did it
yes, good idea
I have the same BOFI kit and I put my 19 row cooler up front between the IC and rad on my mk1 turbo. It works really well, especially on the track. I like your idea of filling the lines and cooler with a funnel - I pre-filled the cooler before putting it on and starting the engine. Hardly any oil level drop to fill the braided lines. One thing to note is that I needed a spacer between the block and the sandwich plate on my 1.6 (which didn't come with the kit!).
has the cooler been working well for you?
so if you haven't cut down the oil shaft you will definitely need the spacer
