At around 2:45 when she's whipping her head around while she spins, it gives the effect of one of those old picture movies with the flipbook animation, as you can see the bits and pieces of each movement separately. I don't know if I described it right but it's a really really charming effect. Just like the whole routine 💖

It’s hysterical that I don’t know who I enjoy more - the skaters- and she is fabulous smooth and graceful - or Jordan Cowan skating around filming. His skating on the ice filming changes the perspective, it’s beautiful to watch.

Leaving aside for a second how insanely difficult it is to skate like that at all, how much more of a challenge does dark-and-spotlights add to the difficulty?

WOW!! She still really has it! I thought she quit. She's a Facebook friend of mine but she doesn't post there anymore. When I clicked friend she was 15. I sent her a personal message and she answered it. Throughout their time, she and Gracie were my favorites. Polina is the most underrated U.S. Skater ever. ......then that FOOT😡 issue happened and it eventually ended her.

I really think Polina has grown into a sensational performer - she is so much more engaging now than she was when competing as a teen.

Polina Edmonds has been my favorite ladies skater since I saw her US Nationals debut skate when she was 15 yrs old.
She skated to selections from "Gone With the Wind*
and she was absolutely amazing, zero falls or skipped or down gradeed elements in either of her programs! She should have stayed in first place - where she was - until the judges gave extra sympathy points to Gracie Gold's free skate score, which placed her just fragments ahead of Polina's total giving Gracie the gold medal and Polina the silver! I am still upset about that. But I have been & will always be a huge Polina Edmonds fan! Julie Norvellb 🤔

Wow! That was great skating Polina! I love when you do the twizzles. I think you do them the best of anyone I've seen. Really miss seeing you in competitions. Please compete again. You're in excellent shape too and you have such a lovely style of skating that we don't see anymore. ❤❤

I wish she would attempt a comback. Her skating has grown so much and I think she has a really good shot at another Olympics

The amount of control she has on the ice reminds me of Scott Hamilton.

I'd love to see her return to competitive skating. Elizaveta needs competition for "Empress" honours 🙂 And if Deanna Stellato can do it at 39, so can Polina at 24...

I sure hope that was a warm up run and no one has arrived yet, because that place is empty and these incredible performers deserve better

Polina was my favorite back when she did competitive, she wasn't the most graceful or most impressive jumper or anything but she had nerves of STEEL and never appeared shaky or nervous even in high pressure situations. I think she was kind of robbed at the 2016 nationals. Gracie made a HUGE mistake, Polina skated two clean programs that were equal to Gracie's imo.

She is ! Well, Russian-American (her mother is Russian). Her ability to understand Russian has given her an unusual insight into the training and drug regime of Russian figure skaters.

    • @yourevilalterego

@@awuma i was bout her mentality. ethnically she’s ~50% russian, but mentally…. she didn’t even live a day in russia, she doesn’t speak russian and there’s nothing russian in her :(

    • @yourevilalterego
      @yourevilalterego Рік тому

@@awuma and bout drugs, maybe you will believe somebody who trained in russian professional/olimpic team? that scandal that i know, when polina blamed alina zagitova and eugenia medvedeva, she didn’t even proved that somehow, not any photo, not any video, only her words. we know now, that in russian team is a huge problem with drugs, a lot of ru journalists and bloggers covered this topic, and problem is in corruption, terrible attitude towards athletes and outdated views. russian professional figure skating is very cruel and tough sport, that’s terrible that girls must train even when they have traumas, getting ED when trainers trying to stop puberty, and nobody cares about their physical and mental health. but you will believe random figure skater from usa? okay

This music didn't fit her choreography at all. She could have added a lot more salsa dancing through this piece. I've seen better from her.
